Seven Sins System Chapter 901. Poison II

Seven Sins System Chapter 901. Poison II

Instead, I guided Puriel's own holy energy into the gaps, allowing her core to begin repairing itself. She had the power. I just needed to remove whatever was preventing it from working.

[Contamination: 7.9%]

[Core Stability: 61.2%]

Progress. Slow. Painfully slow.

I checked the time. Nine minutes.

I stared.

Nine?

Only nine?!

F*ck me.

I had almost an hour of this.

My lips were already burning, my throat felt scraped raw, and my tentacles were working overtime to keep my internal contamination under control.

I briefly considered demanding overtime compensation from the Light Realm. Then remembered who I was treating. Never mind. I would probably do this for free.

Disgusting.

Love really was a terrible business model.

Another black strand came loose. This one resisted. I felt it twist inside Puriel's core, wrapping itself around a golden thread as though threatening to tear it away if I pulled harder.

I stopped.

My eyes narrowed.

I shifted my extraction current, dividing it into two thin streams. One held the golden thread in place while the other carefully loosened the demonic strand wrapped around it.

The poison fought back. It actually tightened.

Puriel gasped.

[Warning: Core Fracture Under Stress]

[Core Stability: 60.7%]

My Wrath stirred.

For one dangerous second, I wanted to flood the entire thing with power and rip the poison apart. Simple. Violent. Effective. And absolutely the wrong thing to do.

I closed my eyes.

Calm. I needed to be calm. Which was hilarious, considering I was literally Wrath.

I loosened my grip on the contaminated strand. Waited. Allowed the poison to relax. Then guided it away from the golden thread by offering it something more attractive.

My own demonic energy. The parasite reacted instantly. It abandoned Puriel's core thread and lunged toward me.

I drew it out.

The poison rushed into my mouth. My throat burned. One tentacle immediately injected another dose of neutralizing essence into my body.

[Contamination: 1.1%]

[Neutralization In Progress]

[Puriel's Core Contamination: 7.1%]

I finally lifted my head. Black mist escaped between my lips. I coughed.

Once.

Twice.

Then wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.

“Fucking hell.” My voice sounded rough.

I glanced down at Puriel.

She looked slightly more comfortable. The tension around her eyebrows had softened, and her breathing had become steadier.

I leaned closer and pressed a gentle kiss against her forehead. “See? I'm being a very good doctor.”

Her lips moved faintly.

I paused. “Hmm?”

“El…”

My expression softened. “Yeah. I’m here.”

Her fingers moved weakly toward my wrist. I caught them.

For a moment, I simply held her hand. Then her eyes opened a fraction.

Those beautiful eyes found mine.

She looked confused. Exhausted. But she recognized me. “El… hurts…”

My chest tightened. “I know.” I stroked her cheek. “I'm removing the poison. It's going to hurt a little longer.”

Her gaze shifted toward my mouth. The burns. The blood. She noticed. Even half-conscious, this woman somehow found enough energy to worry about me.

“Don't…”

I smiled. “Oh, no. We're not doing that.”

Her brows drew together faintly.

I leaned closer. “You really think I came all this way just to give up because it hurts? Come on, angel. You know how stubborn your devil is.”

A tiny breath escaped her. Almost a laugh. Then her eyes closed again.

I watched her for a moment, making sure her breathing remained steady.

My fingers tightened around hers. “Just sleep.”

I glanced at the system.

[Core Stability: 62.4%]

[Contamination: 7.1%]

Still a long way to go.

My lips hurt. My throat burned. My own demonic channels were beginning to complain about the constant poison cycling through them.

And the worst part? I couldn't even enjoy the fact that I was alone with her.

Normally, being this close to Puriel would have given me plenty of opportunities to tease her until her cheeks turned pink.

I sighed. “Look what you've done to me.” I brushed a strand of hair away from her face. “The Lord of Wrath, voluntarily practicing patience.” Somewhere outside, Patience would probably have felt personally insulted.

I leaned over Puriel's core again, my expression turning serious.  “Let's get the rest of this poison out.”

The first few minutes were manageable. The poison responded to my demonic energy, slipping free from the damaged threads in thin black strands. Unfortunately, every strand brought traces of Puriel's holy power with it, and those traces burned my lips and tongue as though I were swallowing liquid sunlight.

My mouth was already raw.

The skin around my lips had started cracking, and every attempt to draw more poison out sent another wave of searing pain down my throat. I could feel my regenerative ability struggling to repair the damage while I continued exposing the same wounds to holy energy.

My tentacles continued their work, one drawing contaminated blood from my body while another injected neutralizing essence. The process kept the demonic poison from accumulating, but it couldn't prevent Puriel's holy power from entering my channels.

And that was the real problem.

Her power was beginning to circulate inside me. Not much. Just fragments. But even those fragments felt like tiny blades scraping along my veins.

I panted through my nose, forcing myself to maintain the extraction. Sweat rolled down my temples. My vision blurred occasionally, and a strange dizziness settled behind my eyes.

Still, I refused to stop.

Every time the poison loosened, I carefully drew it out, separated what I could, and let her own core repair the damaged threads. The black veins gradually thinned. Her breathing became steadier. Eventually, I lost track of time.

My shoulders ached from remaining bent over her. My throat felt swollen, and my lips had become so sensitive that even the slightest contact with her holy energy made me flinch.

Then…

The doors opened.

An hour already?

I was still bent over Puriel's chest, my mouth pressed against the glowing core just above her breasts, trying to extract another stubborn strand.

From the doorway, however, the scene probably looked considerably less medical. Especially since my coat was off, her neckline had been lowered, and I was breathing heavily against her skin.

Patience entered and stopped.

Her eyes widened. “Wrath! What are you doing?!”
