Seven Sins System Chapter 900. Poison I
Seven Sins System Chapter 900. Poison I
I placed my palm against Puriel’s chest, directly above her core. Warm.
Her holy energy immediately reacted to my demonic touch, sending a faint sting through my fingers. Normally, that wouldn't bother me. A little holy resistance was practically our version of holding hands.
Unfortunately, this wasn't normal.
I closed my eyes and pushed a thin thread of demonic energy into her core, carefully following the black veins through the golden light.
The response was immediate.
[Warning: Foreign Demonic Energy Detected]
[Angelic Core Resistance Activated]
[Core Stability: 60.9%]
I withdrew my power. “Tch.”
No.
I couldn't take it like this.
The poison was buried too deeply. If I tried pulling it through her skin with Telekinesis, her core would resist my energy before I even reached the contamination. Worse, the poison had attached itself to the damaged threads of her core, making the entire structure behave like a wound with something embedded inside it.
Pull too hard, and I would tear the wound open.
I stared at her chest for a moment, considering my options. Then I sighed.
“Sorry, angel. This is going to be a little unconventional.”
I carefully lowered the neckline of her dress, exposing the glowing manifestation of her core near her sternum. The golden light brightened immediately, illuminating the thin black veins spreading through its fractured center.
I leaned closer. The poison wasn't merely inside the core. It was feeding on the fracture. Every time her holy energy attempted to repair the damaged threads, the demonic poison latched onto the new growth and contaminated it. A parasite. A very stubborn one. I hated parasites. Especially the kind that decided my woman was a suitable residence.
“Alright, you little bastard,” I muttered. “Come to Daddy.”
I lowered my face toward the exposed core, letting a thin layer of demonic energy cover my lips and tongue.
Then I made contact.
The reaction was immediate.
“NGH!”
Holy energy burned against my mouth.
F*ck!
I nearly jerked backward, but forced myself to remain still. The golden surface of her core was hotter than I expected, and the sensation wasn't remotely comparable to touching ordinary skin.
It felt like pressing my mouth against a piece of the sun. A very judgmental sun.
Goddess of Chastity.
Lord of Wrath.
Our powers had been rejecting each other since the day we met. Apparently, her core was still committed to that tradition. I adjusted my demonic energy, carefully isolating the contaminated section before drawing the poison toward my mouth. Slowly. Something cold touched my tongue. Then moved.
I began drawing it out.
Puriel grunted softly. Her fingers twitched against the altar, and the golden light beneath my mouth flickered.
I stopped immediately.
[Core Stability: 60.8%]
[Contamination: 8.6%]
Barely anything.
But it worked.
I continued, maintaining the same pressure while using Observation to watch every movement inside her core.
Black energy seeped from the fracture in thin, threadlike strands. It tasted horrible. Bitter. Metallic. Rotten. And somehow alive. Because, technically, it was.
Demonic poison wasn't ordinary poison. Depending on its origin, it could contain fragments of demonic will, parasitic energy, or corrupted essence that instinctively sought something to consume.
This particular poison was especially nasty. The moment it entered my mouth, it tried crawling deeper. Not down my throat. Into my demonic channels.
‘Oh, you greedy little shit…’
I wanted to spit it out. Unfortunately, I couldn't.
The poison had already connected itself to the extraction current. If I interrupted the flow carelessly, the remaining strands could recoil into Puriel's fracture and damage it further. So swallowing it was.
I drew another thread out. Then another. The poison slid into my body, spreading through my throat and toward my chest.
[Warning: Demonic Contamination Detected]
[Foreign Toxin Entering Demonic Channels]
[Contamination: 0.3%]
I narrowed my eyes. Not too bad. At least it wasn't holy poison.
Yesterday's holy contamination had felt like someone poured molten silver into my veins and then asked my organs to politely stop existing.
This? Unpleasant. But manageable.
I could survive demonic poison far more easily than holy poison because my body naturally understood its structure.
The problem was what came with it.
Puriel's core threads.
Every strand of poison I extracted carried traces of her holy essence, and those traces burned through my mouth and throat like tiny golden needles. I could separate most of them. Not all. Which meant I was essentially drinking poison garnished with divine fire.
Five stars. Would not recommend.
I raised one hand.
A tentacle emerged from my back. Its tip changed shape, splitting into several thin appendages before forming a hollow needle.
Then another appeared.
Both moved toward my side.
[Construct: Demonic Essence Extraction Needle]
[Construct: Internal Toxin Neutralization Needle]
One needle pierced my arm.
The other slipped into my side.
I winced. ‘Great. Now I'm treating myself while treating someone else.’
The first tentacle began drawing contaminated blood into a small reservoir of demonic energy. The second injected a neutralizing compound formed from my own regenerative essence.
Cold spread through my arm.
Then warmth.
The poison inside me slowed.
[Internal Toxin Neutralization Initiated]
[Contamination: 0.1%]
I could work with that.
I lowered my face again and resumed extracting the poison.
Puriel's body reacted. Her back tensed slightly against the altar, and a faint, pained sound escaped her lips.
My heart tightened. I brushed my fingers over her cheek. ‘You've survived worse than this. And you're not allowed to make me look bad in front of your mother.’
I smiled faintly and returned to work.
Minutes passed.
The sanctuary remained quiet except for Puriel's breathing, the faint hum of the magical formations, and the occasional hiss of holy energy burning my lips.
I kept my extraction steady.
A little poison.
Pause.
Stabilize.
Another thread.
Pause.
Stabilize.
Every time I removed a contaminated strand, I used a small amount of carefully filtered energy to support the surrounding structure.
Not enough to heal it.
That would be stupid.
I was a devil. Trying to repair an angelic core with raw demonic power was like attempting to extinguish a fire with a barrel of oil.
