Welcome to the Order!
I did not expect so many of you to join the new free tier, so I think this deserves a post! I guess that if you joined it's because you're interested in knowing what I'm up to. I have a post that I update frequently that sums up the state of most of my current projects, but I guess I can discuss a few things here for you guys!
- Right now, the priority is getting Across a Thousand Dead Worlds done. Fortunately, with the incorporation of Glynn things are moving smoothly, despite the many problems we've found that are the result of our previous designer's mistakes. Glynn is in constant communication with the printer and they are slowly fixing all the issues. Once all the files are approved for printing we'll get a proof and then we should be ready to print.
- Since there isn't much I can do about ATDW right now, I'm trying to finish my next game: Warlord Ascendant. As those of you in the Blackoath Discord know, this is an expansion/standalone skirmish game set in the world of Sacrifice. It has small scale battles, exploration, a randomly generated hex map that you can slowly conquer (and defend) to gain a series of advantages, character development in the form of levels and perks, and much more! And as usual, it's fully solo/co-op. I'm in the process on finishing the layout now, and as soon as ORB finishes the art it will be up on Patreon, and available for everyone else at a later date.
- With the incorporation of Alan Bahr to the development of Under Ashen Skies, I've started planning the upcoming Kickstarter, and setting up the page. For those of you who don't know, UAS is a solo dungeon crawler heavily inspired by Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Hellraiser, Diablo, and the Orphic Mysteries. It's been in development hell for 3 years now because I was constantly tweaking it and changing things without really making much progress, but now with Alan on board he's going to take what I had and turn it into a proper game. This should end up being quite a large project, I think I already had about 30K words and Alan is adding a lot of stuff. It's going to be great!
- I've started working on a new, secret project. This one is my attempt at making the ultimate dungeon crawler, and just that. It's not a game about a group of adventurers having adventures across a fantasy land; it's about you, a survivor trapped in a seemingly infinite dungeon. It's largely focused on combat (it has the best combat rules I've ever written, if I may say so myself) and has a really deep character customization system based on masteries. I'm not going to say anything else cause it's still in early stages, but I'm SO excited about this one. My idea is that this game becomes the de-facto go-to game for those wanting to give solo RPGs a go for the first time, while still being interesting for fans of straightforward dungeon crawlers.
- My next goal was to release an expansion for Broken Shores, but I got distracted by this new project, so that will come later. I started working on it and I have a large portion of the lore and initial stuff written, so it's in good shape. It's a big hexcrawl expansion called Egrastea Reborn, and it's going to be really cool!
I think this is enough for now. If you want to be among the first to see and play all the games I release, consider joining this Patreon! Your support means the world, and it allows me to continue doing this.
Thanks for reading!

The more terrain and minis the better for me! But I understand that's not for everyone. I think that's a great idea though, to have tokens and grid to make it easily accessible for people who are new to those kind of games. Portability is another concern for some. It's nice to have the option to not have to haul my big stack of storage bins in to game night!
Yeah I love my minis and terrain, I have lots, but since I barely have time to play nowadays, I don't want to spend 30 min setting up the battlefield. With WA, a couple of rolls solve all the terrain and deployment.
I am most excited for Warlord Ascendant. I absolutely love skirmish/ miniatures/adventure games. Set it in the world of Sacrifice and I'm sold! The theme for Under Ashen Skies has me intrigued. Haven't had a chance to read through Broken Shores yet but I do have a print copy coming in the mail :) All very exciting. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I also love small squad skirmish games, but lately I'm super lazy to play them with terrain and minis, so I made sure Warlord Ascendant could be played with tokens and a square grid by default, but still perfectly playable the traditional way. I think it's going to be great!
