Update - 09/07/2023
Hello, and welcome to another update! I hope that everyone had a great weekend, mine was pretty nice, I ran some Pathfinder for the first time (it's a great system for that sort of high fantasy, World of Warcraft gameplay) and I made some great progress with my projects.
On Saturday I finally finished writing Warlord Ascendant! I'm still playtesting it but it seems pretty well balanced so far. I also got the character sheets from David, so I'm working on the layout now, that way I'll know exactly what I need from ORB when it comes to the art. If he's done in time (and knowing him, he will), it really looks like you guys will have the final version of the game later this month!
This week I also decided to tell the whole truth of what was happening with Across a Thousand Dead Worlds, namely how it's all Phil's fault. I guess it's ultimately my fault as well because I was supposed to be the project manager and manage people, and I clearly suck at it, especially when it's a friend. I left him too much autonomy and he ended up screwing us over again and again. So far the backers' reactions have been immensely positive though! A couple were pissed off (which I can understand), but the vast majority thanked me for my honesty. Now that Glynn is in control of the situation we're making so much progress, he even found out a few crappy mistakes that Phil had made just to rush and get things done, which meant the cover was messed up and some interior pages weren't as they should. At this rate we'll have a release candidate this week! We're just waiting now for the printer to tell us a few things before Glynn sends it over.
As part of the ATDW Kickstarter update I mentioned my decision of organizing a short and simple campaign, to help me get some cash to pay for all the things that Phil's actions have messed up. I need more money to account for the increased price of things related to the printer, and also to pay for Glynn's work. This was actually Alan's idea, and he convinced me that we could pull it off. Indeed, Alan Bahr has taken Under Ashen Skies out of development hell and he is right now wrapping things up! Knowing he is finishing the game is a huge relief because I was having huge problems doing so myself, as you all know. I'm really excited to see it done! The KS campaign will be a super simple one, fulfilled via DTRPG, so no offset printed copies, and no stretch goals. We just need cash to pay for the art, basically.
This week I'll continue working on the layout for Warlord Ascendant, and also help Penny Melgarejo with his English translation of his Cyberpunk story/setting "We are the Ones Left Behind". The art and design is absolutely brutal, so it really deserves an English release. If you are even remotely interested in the cyberpunk genre, you must grab a copy of this once it's out, it's a masterpiece.
So that's it for this week, I hope you all have a great one!

My group and I I love pvp/coop/solo skirmish games and I am really looking forward to trying out a game of Warlord Ascendant when you finish it!
Thank you! I'm working on the layout right now, it's going to look really good. I'm not sure ORB will have the art done before the month's over because there's a lot of art, so if that's the case I'll first upload an artless version of it for you guys.
Sounds good on my end! Cannot wait for ATDW and excited to see what Alan does with UAS.
Thanks! I can't wait to see what Alan does either, what I've seen so far is great!
