Update - 03/04/2023

Hello, welcome to another update! How was your weekend? Mine was super productive, I've finally finished the Bestiary for Riftbreakers! This monster just grew and grew, and it looks like Riftbreakers is going to be the largest game I've written since Across a Thousand Dead Worlds. The Bestiary alone is 20K words, just pages and pages of tables... I really hope that this will provide a lot of replayability. This means that the only thing left to do is wrap up the small, starting scenario I have planned (not really a scenario at all, just an intro Rift for your characters to start off with a bang), and then it's time for layout! This is going to be a complex book to work on, so I'm honestly not confident about finishing it this month either... But that shouldn't be a problem because as a little distraction I wrote a small thing I'm calling an "adventure exploration and resource management game". It was super fun to write and it just took me a couple of days. It's laid out and everything! I just need a couple of illustrations before I can share it with you guys. Here's the logo, which should tell you a lot about the game's theme!

This is not a true RPG, it's a super minimalist thing to spend an evening or two with. Single player only, super simple, but fun to mess around with, and with a dice mechanic I'm super proud of that is the core of the game. It honestly feels like a board game more than anything else. 

So this week I'll wrap up Riftbreakers, and hopefully I'll be able to playtest it in full, now that Dave is almost done with all the playsheets (there's a few of them: character sheet, abilities sheet, followers sheet, and of course, the gear sheet). I will continue working on the layout and try really hard to have it done for this month. 

I wish I had some news about ATDW, but I'm afraid Phil has been silent. I guess he's working on the missing sheets because that's the last thing we talked about, but I was thinking that he could wrap up the file for the print, give it to them, and then continue working on the sheets. It would mean that people have to wait a bit longer to have all the materials necessary to play properly, but it would also mean the book starts being printed sooner... In any case, let's hope he replies to my messages soon. I must say this is a real agony...

So that's it for this week, which is Easter week, actually. I'll have more free time than usual, so I'm hoping I'll make good progress with all my stuff. Enjoy the week!
