I actually really like Ross and Rachel’s relationship because it feels the most real. When you are that close with somebody and have that much history it makes sense how things are going between them. Chandler and Monica have really no drama. While Ross and Rachel’s personalities make them have conflict all the time. Ross has been in love with Rachel since 9th grade. They are so drawn to each other like moths to flame. I like that the writers have not forced them together. Because that’s also very real. There can be an attraction and love between people but things just don’t work out all the time. Personalities conflict and fights happen and you think maybe we just aren’t good together. Season 8 is my favorite season or one of my favorites. Jennifer is amazing this season and the storylines are really strong. I like that they’re all getting older. I love seeing Rachel get more mature. The will they won’t they have Ross and Rachel never bothered me because it made sense. It never felt like they were just doing it to drag it along. Ross and Rachel are complicated and messy. But it’s good writing imo. Monica and chandler are like an old married couple while Ross and Rachel are the couple who know each other better than anyone knows them but can never get out of their own stubborn way.

I love all the seasons of Friends, but seasons 5-8 are definitely my favorites. 🥰 And you are so right in the 2nd episode when you said Joey is the sweetest person in the room. Even when he gets it wrong, his heart is in the right place. I think I fell in a little bit love with him in season 8. 😂 Still forever and always a Chandler girl, though. 💜

It's lucky you didn't watch Friends at the same time as The Vampire Diaries. Because, in season 6 (TVD spoilers ahead), when Caroline's mom is sick, Caroline goes to consult with a doctor and she gives her mom Friends box set and tells her "if you start the Friends box set now, I'll be back in time for Chandler and Monica's wedding". Imagine if you suddenly remembered that when you started Friends 🤣
The last time Rachel and Ross slept together (well, before this one of course), was 4 years ago, in the season 4 premier, that was when they reconnected at the beach but broke up because of the whole "we were on a break" and Rachel' letter (18 pages, FRONT AND BACK). I think we are supposed to think that they almost slept together in Vegas 2 years ago, but did not. Rachel remembered that she laughed a lot, and to that Ross concluded "then we did not have sex". Of course they almost slept together one year ago, at Monica and Chandler's engagement, but ended up not having this "bonus night". Well, until now.
The wedding episode was dedicated to the people of New York City - this was the only reference to 9/11 that happened 2 weeks before the episode was aired.
As for Rachel is the first to become a mom, Sofie is right. It is really Monica who is the "mom" character from the beginning and we always knew she is crazy about kids and one day would be a great mom. And as the writers stated, this is exactly why they chose Rachel to be pregnant at the end of season 7 - first of all, it would have been great, but too evident if it had been Monica. And beside, getting into a life-situation that is unexpected, scary, without the skills needed, but embracing the thing and growing toward a more mature and independent person - that IS Rachel's story all along.
As for the "when", it dates to the TOW the Vows, aka the clip-show about Monica and Chandler. That is the episode when they say that there is a month to the wedding. There is a scene when the friends are in Central Perk musing about how long Monica and Chandler are already together for 3 years and how things are changing... I feel that scene raised similar emotions than the news about Monica and Chandler's engagement and then things happened.
Oh Sofie! These are some of my favourite episodes in the whole series and I was dying to watch your reaction to them. I watched many other reactors about this, and they were fun, seeing how shocked they become at every turn, but really no one came close to your insights, empathy and understanding the characters. I was both impressed, and not at all surprised when you instantly realized how Phoebe was lying about the test (because it's totally what Phoebe would do, and on purpose, to show Rachel how she feels about it), how Rachel became disappointed by the negative result (she already made peace with it and wanted it), and of course how you called it that the father had to be Ross (of course). So thank you really!
The first four episodes of season eight are so great. I can’t wait for the next two! The line delivery of “that’s a risky little game!“ is perfect. The scene in the bathroom is so beautiful. Jennifer Aniston is about to step up for a game even more this season… She’s just so good.
"How can I be upset about something I never had" is the other sentence that gets me all the time. Her delivery is just heartbreaking.
When Phoebe lied about being pregnant and they asked her who the father is, I really thought she was going to say, "My brother...again."

The scene in the bathroom is my favorite serious scene of Jennifer Aniston’s in the whole series. The way we can just tell from her face how disappointed she is when Phoebe tells her she’s not pregnant. It always surprises people because the pregnancy comes out of left field so you assume she’s going to be relieved to hear it’s negative. Such incredible acting in that moment. It always tugs at my heart strings. You know Phoebe too well lol. You literally took the words out of her mouth. 😂

I love how Sofie knows Phoebe is a chaos magnet so she knew Phoebe was lying about the test results lol. Also Sofie going "a fork? a friggin fork??" LOL.
On 7x01 episode there was a moment when Ross and Rachel was talking about doing it, and she joked with Monica that she will announce she's pregnant on her wedding day
Yeah, it was also smart that aside from that episode there was no romantic moments with them the entire season, even that episode didn't exactly feel romantic either. So, even though Ross is on your mind that he could be father, your also thinking maybe they won't go in that direction.
kathleen turner (actress for chandler’s dad) wasn’t in s8 ep 1 cause she didn’t want to come back. she said that she felt excluded from the main cast. she was in a movie with jen called “marley & me”

Also I'm going to assume before i get there that this extended joke won't be in this reaction, but in the extended episode on the dvd, chandler slips to the floor while dancing with Monica's mom and grabs and rips off her skirt to expose her underwear lol.
