The original storyline for Monica and Chandler’s honeymoon was completely different. Chandler was supposed to get into trouble at the airport because of a careless joke about having a bomb in his suitcase. However, between the filming of these scenes and their scheduled broadcast, the September 11 attacks took place, so the production team quickly decided to film an alternative storyline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_p5i7lu2pGQ
Rachel did know what the story was about. She just didn't know Ross and everyone else knew.

ep4 imo one of the best friends writing, the connection they’ve been building throughout the episode until everything connected in the end when they saw who came to who its perfect 😂
Man, mondler must rly love Greg and Jenny because they got married in May and assuming their honeymoon was 1-2 weeks long they were trying to get together w them for June/July and they got January as the earliest date to hang out again. And they were so happy w that too lol.
True, but magically now we are also in early October :) (There is a prop about Rachel's sonogram picture and it has an October date.) Friends is always timey-wimey with things like that.
About Ross and Rachel: I actually love how wonderfully complicated the relationship they have (while also understand why others get frustrated by it.) For me, their bickering is often very funny and from fighting they go in a second to passionate moments with insane chemistry, or such a sweet, heartfelt scene than the one at the sonogram. I do think they still love each other, but they are settling for now at being good friends, with a hope that one day this would change. Rachel admitted that before Ross's wedding to Emily and both talked about it when Jill, Rachel's sister showed up. They get very panicky when this hope seems to disappear, but go back to status quo when it is there. I do think Sofie is onto something when she said they are afraid. Whether to be vulnerable and shot down by the other (it happened to Rachel when she confessed her feelings to Ross, and almost happened to Ross, but he held himself back from saying it after Vegas). Or as Sofie said, they are afraid to start again and ruin again and losing even the friendship they built back painfully from the shattered pieces. That said, I think in 8x03 at the sonogram Ross finds it easier to talk about marriage "because it is the right thing to do" and "because I want to protect you" which unfortunately goes to a patronizing "you need me, without me you cannot do it" - than to admit he loves her and he needs her to need him. Unfortunately that is the worst angle for Rachel, who already ran from a marriage that was not out of love, but societal expectation. She needs to feel that the other loves her and that they trust her that she can do it competently. But even with this fight they are just so cute as they are realize they are together in this, that they are about to become parents.
In episode 3, Phoebe is wearing the same red sweater that Ross and Tag were wearing in episode 2. Now it's making me want to buy that red sweater.
The Europe story is so interesting as it plays with the different perspectives of the people. Objectively Ross is right. Rachel came on him with the Europe story. (Altough technically they both sent out begging signals, Ross started to talk about "how we almost" at the engagement and Rachel played with her hair in a very flirty manner.) But the interesting thing is that in Rachel's mind the story only works, if you tell it in its entirety. So if Ross kisses her after the first sentence and she has no clue he knows the story, for her the kiss comes out of blue. Like he came on her. And if for her it is important that Ross shows her that he cares, that he initiates, than it will be what shapes her memory of that night. In six weeks not every detail will remain, only the story you tell about it to yourself. For Ross, that Rachel came on him. For Rachel, that Ross came on her.

sofie at the start of the episode when they tell rachel they know ross is the father i was staring directly at the picture then out of the corner of my eye i saw something move across the bottom of your screen and i didn't know what it was until i went back and realised it was your dog lol.
i never really understood why rachel had the thought that ross wouldn’t wanna be there for her or their baby. i say this only because him & carol had just divorced, she was right away with susan, etc. before she told him she was pregnant. yet he was still there! he had his doubts for a sec but he knew he wanted/needed to be there.
Rachel has just joined the gang when Carol shared the news of her pregnancy with Ross. And she said the EXACT same thing to him. So I think it's not about Rachel not trusting Ross to be there for her. It's about "what people should say in this situation", something she learned from Carol. I also think that for her it is important to give Ross the choice to be there for her because he WANTS to be. And I am pretty sure she trusts Ross he will choose to be there for him. After the initial panic about the pregnancy (that is mostly caused by Monica frightening her with all the aspects she did not think about), Rachel is very calm about the pregnancy and about the father.
The Europe story episode will always be one of my favorite episodes. So well written. Twists and turns. And to find out, Rachel was the one! The way Ross kept pushing saying it Rachel. Knowing full well that if it was Ross that had been the one, he would have caved and admitted he was the one. Ross's smug look was gold. Lol
I don't think Ross would have admitted in front of the friends that he was the one. There are moments (like at the end of the episode), where he can be very honest and vulnerable. But that is not always ther case. It is also true to most of them.
Such a strong start to S8. I’ve been dying for you to hear the Europe story. I love how all the stories intertwine in episode 4. Great writing! Thanks for spoiling us with four eps this week, SoFie!

Yeah, I think it was a mistake. He should have worn a shirt on it, like Tag did in the previous episode.
I love how you talk to the characters as you watch. Like “no girl” and “Ross, did you sleep with Rachel?” Lol. It’s so much fun because it’s usually what we’re all thinking.
