Highlands Miniatures Roadmap, New Games and more!
In today’s publication we will look at what’s coming to Highlands Miniatures for the first half of 2025.
As always, we want to thank you all for your support along this fantasy development journey. We expect to continue working on additional fantasy miniatures for more years to come!
What will come next?
For this upcoming February 2025, a second set of Sewer Vermin is under way to Highlands Miniatures. Heavy armoured rats, little and big rats and more! A perfect set to deploy a deadly force of Sewer Vermin in your table!
In March 2025 we will bring back our favourite elves -for now- with a new set of Aegean Elves, coming directly from the shores of the Aegean sea. Light infantry, light cavalry and more will be awaiting for you!
In April 2025 we will -almost- complete our Aegean Elves fantasy race with two unique set of miniatures and a couple of way more unique flying feathered creatures!
In May 2025 we will continue working on the Sewer Vermin, bringing the full technology power of the rats to your favourite tabletop games!
Finally, in June 2024 we will create the last set of Sewer Vermin miniatures with more rats, from the darkest and deepest alleys of the undercities!
Any remaining hero or unique single miniatures will come at a later time.

A new Fantasy wargame from Highlands Miniatures
Yes, you have heard right. We believe it's time to develop an alternative and open sourced set of rules to play with your favourite fantasy armies.
After five years of Highlands Miniatures content for wargames, we have developed a massive library of miniatures for fantasy armies, but still no in-house rules to play with them.
The goal of this project is to create a game that pays homage to the great wargames of the early 2000s, preserving their essence while adapting them to the expectations and needs of today’s players.
Design Guidelines
To maintain a consistent approach, we have defined the following guidelines:
Accessibility and Flexibility: The game will be easy to learn but with enough depth to reward mastery. We want both veterans and new players to feel comfortable.
Miniature-Agnostic: The game will not be limited to a single range of miniatures. Players will be free to use any miniatures they like, fostering creativity and inclusivity.
Refreshing Classic Mechanics: We will preserve the essence of early 2000s wargames while adjusting the rules to be more streamlined and adapted to modern gameplay.
Focus on Strategy: Prioritizing planning and decision-making on the battlefield.
Customization: Freedom to adapt army lists and rules to individual playstyles.
Dynamic Narrative: custom missions and campaigns that enrich the gaming experience.
Scalability: Flexible design for quick matches or massive battles.
Community Invitation
We want this project to be a shared effort. We invite all wargaming enthusiasts to contribute their ideas, suggestions, and constructive feedback.
Initial Feedback: Collecting initial impressions from the community about this statement of intent.
Prototype Development: Creating an initial set of rules for testing with community-based input.
Community Playtesting: Involving the community in playtesting and adjustments.
Refinement and Publication: Improving the game based on feedback and publish a final version.

Looking good. Hoping those June Sewer Vermin might include some particularly sneaky ones, useful for any Dammed Cities that might need exploring...
I'm working on a set of rules, for 15mm models. I've been using your stl's for these and simply resizing them. Mounting them 4 or 5 to a base. Hex based easy play. Any interest?
WWOOWOW! What a very exciting year! Yes-Yes!
I love your miniatures. I've been a patreon for a long time now. It's good to see you moving into game design. Where do I send feedback? I'm a designer myself and I have some input.
Thank you for the support Grantt, glad you like them! You can provide any feedback in our Discord Server or in our Facebook Group. You can find the link to join both in the publication!
