This week, we talk more about an NFL player, who never seems to quite "get it". That includes both on the field, where he never lives up to expectations, but even more with his off the field problems. He's again charged with domestic abuse, as he's accused of not only putting his wife's life in danger, but also the babysitter, and his own 2 year old son. This leads to a huge sweep under the rug, from NFL, and being backed by his coach. Will the legal system be so forgiving??

I was very involved with the shelter for battered women in the early 80s in Madison WI. I had one incident in my personal life. One, I was gone after that. Not out of fear it was anger. I think if someone puts their hands on you they don’t deserve a second chance. I realized abusers are punks with low self esteem. Scared little punks. I have gotten in between an abuser and their victim a few times. They know if they hit me in that situation I’ll put them under the jail. They are just punks. I put them right there with rapists. Have no power and will get what they perceive as power abusing someone. A lot of abusers will rape their partner after the beating. In Madison the person being abused has no say so on the charges. If the police are involved someone is going to jail and being charged. And as far as protecting my children I will quote my youngest daughter “she didn’t think anyone could beat up her mom, maybe the Hulk”. That’s how protected a child should feel.
Jon Gruden is going to get all the facts from all sides, just not the wife's obviously.

I grew up in an abusive home and also had one myself as an adult. I am 💯 in agreement with you both. It is the responsibility of that mother to protect her child. Mine never did and I dont talk with her any longer . I knew better and got my kids out safe despite the toughness of being a single mother. The wellbeing of the children is the only thing that matters
