BONUS - SCARY MOVIES
This week, James and Jimmie discuss some of their favorite scary movies!
Comments (231)
For two years I could not swim at the Jersey Shore due to Jaws. I was super little and thought it was real
“Fallen” with Denzel is a pretty underrated thriller/horror movie
Hull House and Last House on The Left. Wizard of Oz scared me
The Girlscout Murders were in the late 70s!!
James! 🤦🏼♀️ Rosemary’s Baby was the 60s, dude!! 😖😑
lol this one’s hard to listen to.
Actually, bad things happened in real life at summer camp to reflect those horror movies! There was a real life summer camp tragedy on June 13, 1977 at "Camp Scott," near Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Three Girl scouts were raped and murdered and the guy went free. I was 8 years old at the time (around the same age as the girls who were killed) AND I was attending girl scout summer camp in the midwest when it happened! So, I remember it quite well!
I haven't seen "Madhouse" for a while but you guys mentioned it and I was like, "I could use a ridiculous movie with John Larroquette and Kirstie Alley" the other day. It's still just as funny as the first time I watched it 🤣
Carey Ellwis did play a serial killer in Kiss the Girls. It made it extra creepy.
Ed and Lorraine Warren.✌️
My sister and I watched Santa Jaws a few weeks ago. Horribly fantastic!
I really love movies like The Descent, but most of these movies are better in the theater. Has anyone watched Green Room, my husband loved that and Bone Tomahawk. I can’t handle those movies!
James, James, James... you're so wrong. Just because "Alien" is set on a spaceship doesn't exclude it from horror. It's one of the scariest, most atmospheric and truly terrifying films ever. I was it at 9 yo in the theater in 1979 and it changed me. A true horror masterpiece. Jimmy, "Backrooms" was a great film. Kubrik/Lynch inspiration all over it. Unsettling and disturbing, a great film.
I love scary movies and The Strangers is the scariest one I have ever seen. Terrifies me!
I went to summer camp and it was great!!! I begged to go each summer. Camp Skyline in Lapeer County, MI.
Evil Dead is my favorite! 🫎
Tomahawk is awesome.
I cheered when Tucker and Dale vs Evil was mentioned. I like to watch that and Cabin in the Woods back-to-back.
The female lead in Obsession also looks exactly like my ex sister in law who my brother divorced after she took a knife to him one too many times ...it made the movie a million times more terrifying
I love listening to podcasts about horror movies. I can’t do them. But I love listening to them. I also love you guys soooo much, but your pick and opinions on horror movies is dog shit lol 😂 I mean that with so much love, though 🤣 😜
I am a classic horror fan. There was something so spooky and atmospheric about old black and white horror films. Dwight Fry as Renfield in Lugosi's Dracula is iconic. Vincent Price, Karloff, both top favorites.
I’m surprised that any Cronenberg movie wasn’t even mentioned. The master of body horror! Also. James and Jimmie should do the best and worst mafia movies of all time
It’s not just the basement. It’s a whole house of “cursed” shit. And Matt Ryfe is a co-owner of the property now. I thought you guys would love that. lol
I was hoping you'd mention Tucker and Dale Vs Evil 👌👌👌👌
I had a Freddy poster beside my bed as a kid🤣. Maybe 8-10 yrs old 🤣🤣🤣
No mention of Terrifier?
I feel like these two need to do a horror movie podcast or watch one every so often for a bonus ep! 👀
I would've liked to hear your opinions of the Rob Zombie films. Hopefully you do a a second.
My favorite scary movies are Midnight Meat train and Amityville Horror 2 The Possession.
So glad to hear Jimmie say the Warrens were frauds. I live in CT in the area they lived and met them numerous times. Good gracious they were so full of crap and full of themselves.
Am I the only person who gets Jason and Michael Myers mixed up? That’s how much I don’t give a shit about those “horror movies” 🤷🏼♀️
Someone should tell these guys about Behind the Mask...
I really enjoyed the Smile movies, and anything by Eggers, as far as more modern horror goes. I still need to see Obsession.
I came he to say I agree with Jimmie about Backrooms!!!!! If it’s going to be crap then at least make me laugh. I only finished it because I expected it to have an ending that tied it up.
I know you probably won’t even read this, you guys rock! Thank you for being able to make fun of all of our small town people!
Not a horror movie fan at all, but watched The Descent years ago. Fk me, that is a creepy, scary film! The Thing has been mentioned so many times, and it’s another film I love, but I don’t think of it as horror. Group it with Alien, more tense sci-fi than horror. And I do love dodgy special effects 🤣
It was the second saw movie that had the needle pit scene. That was so awful and the actress did a great job selling it. I still squirm when thinking about it. I really only liked the first 3. The rest was just attempts at being the most fucked up. I remember seeing one of the 80s classics in 3D. At the time it was freaky to have a spear coming right at your face. I have fond memories of watching horror films in high school and college with my friends. Even though I get scared easily. One fun memory is when I watched Jeepers Creepers at a friend who lived in rural Arkansas. She did not tell me her damn dogs could open doors. One of them snuck outside through one door and decided to come through the one in the basement. Definitely peed myself because it was late at night, everyone was home so who the fuck is coming through the door. The lights were off and we could only see the shadow from the outside lights. I did not sleep.
I can’t get this to play for days now idk why. I’m going crazy!
I loved High Tension. If you like the French horror movies, À l'intérieur (Inside) was amazing. Don’t bother with the American remake.
OMG, Tim Curry's Pennywise ruined any and all clowns in my life!!!
I think It Follows would freak Jimmie out a bit
"It" fucked us all up, Jimmie. You are not alone on that one, my friend!
Backrooms SUCKED
Watch the Italian movie OPERA. Yikes. Otherwise the only scary movie I felt was reality was THE SHINING. I work in mental health and this movie is close to accurate.
When I was 7 yrs old a guy dressed up as Freddy Krueger and chased me on Halloween night while I was tricker treating with my little sister. I have been scared of him since, watching one of his movies I put a blanket over my head. My family sings that song all the time picking at me. One two freddys coming for you
More into horror comedies lately. Blood Fest from 2018 is my favorite horror comedy. I have watched it at least a half a dozen times.
Jimmy hating the warrens cracks me up bc he hates them for being frauds… Does he know about the little girl Ed kept as his lover with Lorraine knowing?? The lil sophomore lover who LIVED WITH THEM for years??
Jimmie: “I can’t do demons because they’re not real” Also Jimmie: “Weapons is amazing because witches are real.”
The tragic Oklahoma Girl Scout murders took place in 1977. On June 13 of that year, three young girls were killed at Camp Scott in Mayes County, Oklahoma.
I once heard that those who experienced child abuse really like horror movies because you know that you are going to be scared, but you are in control of the fear. I was a big fan of horror through high school and college. 20 years later not so much. I’m lucky to have married someone who makes me feel safe. I don’t know how legit the science is.
The phone ringing in the dorm room after Father Karras listens to the recording makes me jump every time in the Exprcist. I’ve seen the movie so many times!
Jimmie!! There’s a movie coming out in January called The River…you need to check out the trailer!!
And I would pushback that Jaws is def a horror movie lol. Because growing up in New England that shit fucked me up lol I’m at the point where they are talking about silence of the lambs and yes I think it is a horror movie. You can def blend the lines where they are psychological thriller style horror movies IMO
My biggest bone to pick with Friday the 13th is that the original movie DOESN'T have the hockey mask murder that we know him as. It's not until the 3rd F13 movie that we get that.
Yes, Madigan was Costner's wife in Field of Dreams. She was also great in Streets of Fire.
I love jelly roll my daughter is in recovery from the depths of addiction hell. He is powerful generous insightful authentic and talented. I love you guys too and appreciate your humor and telling of the stories, but I think I caught some feelings… I know I can promptly fuck off . Just sayin…
I discovered High Tension when Blockbuster still existed. It’s a psychological thriller/horror. “He” is not “He”. Surely, Jimmie figured that one out. lol Incidentally, learned that the band Muse exists bc of that movie.
If you like Bruce Campbell, you need to watch Bubba Ho-Tep. Campbell plays old Elvis as if he's still alive, Ossie Davis plays JFK, and they fight a soul-stealing mummy. It's hilarious.
Forgot about Death Proof
LOOOOOVE Tucker & Dale vs Evil!
Check out the Possession
The movie IT ruined my life. 😂
Movies like the fly, jaws, aliens… those belong to a subgenre of horror called creature features 🙂
Scream with Me is a great book about the domestic horror genre. I found it super interesting.
Omg! Dusk till Dawn!! What a twist 😮
Love to know their thoughts on Seven. And Fire in the Sky.
Alan Tudyk is in EVERYTHING. He has such range as a voice actor too. He’s a comedic genius!
One of the few movie that Stephen King *did* like was The Mist. He actually said he wished he had ended it the way the movie ended. The absolute visceral psychological horror of the movie ending was gut wrenching.
Jelly Roll's 5th album🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sinners and weapons were amazing. The movie Human Centipede was terrifying
They did a miniseries or something with Salem’s Lot that I saw when I was about ten. I didn’t sleep for a week.
West memo
I think you guys would be hilarious if y'all crossed parths with Joe Bob Briggs
Michael B. Jordan won best actor for Sinners, and Amy Madigan won best supporting actress for Weapons.
The Ring fucked me up for YEARS. Now as an adult, the disconnect between a cursed VHS tape and scary phone call with a dead girl coming out of a well suspend my belief—the technology versus the supernatural just isn’t there for me. I’m probably still too scared to watch the original Japanese version. 😅 The Grudge as well. I remember the cover gave me nightmares.
Bone Tomahawk is a terrible movie. People only glorify it cause of that scene where they chop that dude in half by the gooch and show it.
Autopsy of Jane Doe - definitely worth a watch. Horrifying
I slept with a nightlight for 6 weeks after seeing The Ring 😩
I still sleep with my closet light on because of the picture of the nun from conjuring 2.
The Simpsons have ruined most classic horror movies for me. Can't watch The Shining without thinking of The Simpsons. Found a shortcut through your hedge maze! No TV and no beer make Homer something something...
The Silence of the Lambs (1991): The only horror film to win Best Picture, along with Best Director, Best Actor (Anthony Hopkins), Best Actress (Jodie Foster), and Best Adapted Screenplay (the "Big Five").
Did they mention Black Christmas from 1974? That one is great since it seems like something that could definitely have happened. 1408 is one of my favorite horrors also since it’s the room trying to drive John Cusack insane to kill himself.
Sinister is one of my favourite movies. It’s so unsettling & worth checking out
Children of the corn & The hills have eyes got me back then..
😂😂😂loved it 😂😂😂
Oh hey maybe something to look at but in 1977 a Girl Scout camp in Mayes County Oklahoma had a one night murder
I agree with Jimmie about The Backrooms movie. It's dumb Zoomer meme concept slop and I am furious that's it's doing well because that just means there's gonna be more movies made like that, and I think they're SO fucking stupid in concept that I can't even believe they got made in the first place!!! Wild ass shit!
no wait tho… there was DEFINITELY a real life summer camp massacre.
*just googled* it was in Norway.
Li xx
Don't sleep on Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. It's hilarious (and intentionally so).
My two favorite "horror" movies from the last decade or two (time doesn't exist anymore)...are 1408 and Hush. I might be biased, because I love pretty much anything Mike Flanagan does. But I know the boys have debated which would be worse...being blind or being deaf, and Hush certainly makes being deaf an absolute nightmare, in my opinion.
Stephen King does have some good horror movie translations. Off the top of my head: Pet Semetary (og) The Mist Shawshank The green Mile
and this has been "what the fuck is her name??" with James and Jimmy
I have seen Tucker and Dale many many times. James... you MUST see it. The best of its genre.
The Silence of the Lambs definitely won best picture.
Big fan of the X trilogy (X, Pearl, and MaXXXine) if you’re looking for newer peak horror films.
Obsession was so good my ex and i continued to talk about it even after she dumped me
husband got bitten by a shark and since then JAWS is def a horror movie 🫣
Well.......sometimes you get egg noodles and ketchup
Jimmy leaving Terrifier off his list is wild
Loved hearing that someone else loves High Tension! It's such an unbelievably good horror movie.
I love the film high tension (switchblade romance) in the uk, I thought the twist was brilliant.
Tucker & Dale blvs Evil is fucking fantastic. I would also like the boys to look up the Girl Scout Murders .
High Tension is one of my favorites too!
I’m the exact same age as James and I agree that nothing compares to the horror movies of the 70s and 80s. But hard disagree about the original Scream. It was a true horror movie and one of my favorites.
Just started the episode and I know literally no one cares...(bean soup theory) but the scary movie i first watched i still enjoy, The Ring. Didn't need insane gore, over the top violence. I also watched it before i was allowed, in an old farmhouse with an address of 666 that was pretty spooky lol and i grew up rural and old barns surround me..so the ring was a good story for me personally. The scary movie i last saw in theaters was the worst, The Visit. Felt like it was making fun of elderly people with dementia. All the shit in that movie, real people deal with everyday and it just made me sad.
Omgosh! James you have my heart! 1920's horror! Nosfaratu WOW! You surprised me but I should never have doubted. Love Lugosi and Karloff ❤️
I saw Nosferatu in my university in Dublin in the old chapel and Bram Stoker was a former student there and used to pray at the chapel. It was the perfect setting as old chapel are creepy as fuck to begin with.
I was hoping you’d talk about Freddy and you didn’t let me down, lads 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
That would be a good bonus episode for them to do
Has James come across the Freddy Kreuger wrestling gimmick in Memphis, where he was a babyfface handing out sweets to kids... and teaming with Jerry Lawler. Also would be interested on Jimmie's take on the most recent batch of Halloween films.
One of my favorite movie facts is that Shrek is named after the actor who played Nosferatu in the 1922 movie Max Schreck
How dare you, my first monster nightmare was about Franken-Berry and I still remember it 46 years later. Count Chocula was the best of the monster cereals though so it was no loss.
O
Our own Toli Collet was in Hereditary. Australia 🌏🦘
Still love Kill Bill.
Just put everything on Netflix. Awesome 👍
Y’all mentioned Kurt Russel but you missed The Thing!! The greatest horror movie ever! Besides that, great episode!
This would have been great live
High Tension is SO FUCKIN scary and good! I was so shook after seeing it.
How could you skip over two 70s classics: Black Christmas and Last House on the Left.
I think James would really like Black Christmas if he hasn’t seen it.
I was compiling a list in a comment, thought I'd post it here. Some of these are a bit obscure and/or more thrillers, I know I'm missing a lot, and there's no particular order to these and I'm not saying they're all good. This is more like a reference if someone is looking to explore. Thank you to Ashley V for reminding me of the short horror YouTube channel ALTER: https://www.youtube.com/@WatchALTER If you like series (would recommend all of these): - Haunting of Hill House / Haunting of Bly Manor (Hill House is better) - Archive 81 - Midnight Mass (slow burn but solid) - Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (anthology series. would highly recommend) - Smile (intense/jump-scares/psychological - really like it) - Longlegs (psychological) - Barbarian (I liked it) - Autopsy of Jane Doe - definitely recommend! - X / Maxxxine / Pearl (slasher-like with a porny undertone) - Would You Rather (was ok - this one actually has a porn star in it) - Bring Her Back - Possum (2018) - Creepy as shit. very well made. - The Descent (2005) - Good, but the ending in the US version was changed. The original is better - Ex Machina (thriller, but chilling) - The substance (was okay. body horror) - The Perfection (Netflix) - I loved it - Brightburn (what if superman was evil?) - would highly recommend - Black Phone (i liked it) - Malignant (pretty decent) - Late Night with the Devil (was pretty good) - Evil Dead (campy fun and scary) - VHS (seems kinda like Evil Dead, campy/stupid at points) - don't think it's on Netflix - Final destination (all of them. Kinda corny, but I liked them) - Underwater (lovecraft-like horror) - Color out of space (lovecraft-like) - Together (2025) - More body horror, but a solid movie - Touch me (not great) - Mother (2017) - pretty good - Resident Evil (First one is SUPER cheesy, but they get less cheesy as they go. they are all very cheesy except for the series and the 2026 one) - Slither - kinda creepy, but mostly just weird - The House that Jack Built (mostly just suspenseful) - The Seeding (suspense) - VVitch - Apostle (it was okay) - Megan is Missing (I thought this was just stupid) Movies that are just disturbing: - A Serbian film (this one is more just fucked up - would recommend just reading the synopsis if you're interested) - Taxidermia - Antichrist (actually liked this one, but it has some VERY brutal moments) Comedy: - Shaun of the Dead - Tucker and Dale vs Evil - Zombieland - The Babysitter (Gorey / Comedy) Updating as I remember: - Fractured (more of a thriller) - See for Me (also more of a thriller) - Jimmie mentioned Bone Tomahawk - I've only seen parts, can't say. - A Quiet Place - I think they made 3 of them / The Silence (I think they came out around the same time) - Control Freak (2025) - I liked this one a lot - Identity - more of a thriller (Has Ray Liotta, though)0 - The Collector (2 movies) - basically Saw - lots of gore, very intense. - The Rental - realistic horror - I liked it - Eli (2019) - Intrusion (2021) - more of a thriller - Secret Obsession - more of a thriller
I loved possum, I've been waiting for Mathew Holness to make another horror but he hasn't.
Tucker & Dale vs Evil! Yes!!!
Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining’ is a great, scary movie. It has only the barest relationship to the source material, though. It is Kubrick’s interpretation of King’s book and it is weird and creepy and scary and very enjoyable in its own right, but it doesn’t do a bit of justice to the book, which was really fucking scary. There was a tv movie version in the nineties with Steven Weber and Rebecca DeMornay that did a great job. The scare factor was limited, though, because nineties tv movie. I would LOVE to see Mike Flanagan do a modern miniseries based on The Shining. With what he did with The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, and Fall of the House of Usher- I bet it would be amazing!!!
Love this episode so much!! Could talk about horror all day. Was interested to hear what James liked vs Jimmie
Tucker and Dale! Forgot how much I loved this movie. It’s honestly hilarious and gory - a weird but effective combination
The way I was screaming Amy Madigan 🤣🤣🤣
Sharknado?
Ah, satire.
They need to watch Hereditary! Curious to see if James could suspend disbelief for that
I loved this episode, I am totally in the mood now for horror movies both good and cheesy.
Jimmie was right, provided it is considered a horror movie…? Parasite won a best picture Oscar, and that movie came out in 2019. That movie was fantastic.
I went to the movies to see dusk till dawn on a double date, I had no idea what the movie was about. I was terrified, I did not like scary movies at the time.
It's amazing how you guys can remember all the movies and television shows you remember, with such detail. When I was very young, 4 or 5, and my dad was watching Scanners. That movie was extremely scary to me.
I was going to watch Scanners. I watched it in grade 3 because my friend had HBO.
I fucking love From Dusk til Dawn
Agree. I feel like he missed the point that sometimes you feel like you're dealing with a big problem then an actual big problem comes into play.
I would LOVE a Patreon on the Warren’s. The cases they did that were clearly fraud and their cursed basement lol.
The Others changed the horror game I feel like - so good! And anything Mike Flanagan
I was stunned at the ending. It was terrifying and well done
I would love to see a website or a weekly digest that lists horror movies and they are all summarized by Jimmie 😂😂 I enjoy how to tries to explain anything.
My freaking joy in someone finally agreeing with me on From dusk till dawn. Literally everyone argues about it being so good. It's two different decent movies smashed together lol
I think the great horror films depende on the directors. I'm kinda w James now where I can't watch stuff that can't happen in real life. I used to love horror growing up, kids, crazy looking women and clowns always scared the shit outta me. The Halloween movies always had a place in my heart. Silence of the Lambs and the Hannibal movies are great. In the book Hannibal and Clairice run away together, completely dif from the movie. The Saw movies are great.
Ummm excluding every horror movie of substance from your list of horror movies is peak “James lives in a self isolated bubble.”
Great episode. They were really having fun on this.
Asian horror is also pretty good
Asian horror is one of my favorite sub genres. Pulse (2001) is one of the scariest movies I’ve seen! They know what they’re doing!
Found footage genre is probably my favorite, but I absolutely love the Hostel franchise.
High Tension has the wildest twist! The Witch came out around 2015 (?). Ana Taylor Joy is great in it.
There's a scene in The Apparition from the point of view of a security camera and it gave me legit nightmares
I have the exact same experience with From Dusk till Dawn, when everyone turns into a vampires I initially thought it was the Tarantino character having a delusion 🤣
I teach US History and spend most of my time studying it, so horror is my escape. Ive loved it from a young age (50s now), started reading King as a teenager. This was a great episode thanks! 2026 has been a great year for all kinds of horror genre. Just saw Other Mommy.
Can't forget the halloween movie franchise. And there actually have been a couple of summer camp murders. The girl scout murders in Oklahoma in 1977 and there was one in Norway where 69 people were killed
Norway was an act of terrorism
Oklahoma Girl Scout murders 1977 3 girls were murdered in or outside their tents (can’t remember the specifics) while everyone else slept. Glad I didn’t know about it when I went to Girl Scout camp back in the day but definitely has made camp/woods horror scarier
I'M FLOATIN' OVER HERE had me dying
Tucker & Dale is hilarious! " Hidey-ho officer! We've had a doozy of a day. There were were minding our business. Just doing some chores around the house. When kids started killing themselves all over my property."
Oh man, I gotta say I'm the opposite of James. I can't be fucked by a horror movie if the "monster" is something I can beat the shit out of with a baseball bat, and that's pretty much all serial killer flicks. My favorite horror movie is "The Thing".
I had never seen The Thing, and kept seeing weird YT shorts about it, and so I said fuck it and watched it. It was really good. It’s on my list for my kids to watch.
Excellent episode. Love to hear ya'll just riff about a topic. (BTW - From Dusk to Dawn...same. The best things about that was Selma Hayak's dance and George Clooney's neck tattoo. But vampires? That was just deceitful.)
This one was a little painful 😂
House on haunted hill, The Legend of Hell House, and oh so many more. One of these days I want to watch all the old, old horror movies. The psychological thriller was so much better than blood and gore.
Jimmy & James, you gotta see Wes Craven’s first feature film, Last House on the Left (1972), two teenage girls, Mari and Phyllis, head into the city for a concert and are kidnapped by a gang of escaped criminals. The gang brutally assaults and murders them, then unknowingly seeks shelter at the home of Mari’s parents. When the parents discover what happened, their grief turns into a savage quest for revenge. The vibe: Raw, grimy, and deeply disturbing — an early-1970s exploitation film that pushes violence and revenge to an almost unbearable extreme.
I HATE horror movies but LOVE psychological thrillers. Watched Obsession thinking it was a psychological thriller because I’m an idiot. When she’s sleeping and telling him to kill her.. freaked me out! And that steering wheel scene was horrifying! I’m just a wimp who loves true crime but can’t handle horror movies.
Maybe it's a name thing? I like scary movies, think silence of the lambs, bone collector, etc, but horror and gore are a no go for me. My ex husband loves horror and we watched 13 Ghosts together. I lasted until the guy got cut in half by the sliding glass doors. Tapped out and went to bed.
Guys, look at the Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders, it is though to have set off a lot of the “camp” horror movies- and would love to have a bonus episode about this case, it’s absolutely horrific and sad.
That's a lot of maniacs 😂😂
Jimmie is also confusing Obsession and Curry Barker with Weapons and Zach Cregger from WKUK. Amy Madigan IS in Weapons. That is not the spell cast on the girl to love him. And Zach Cregger, of Weapons, is possibly Older than James and Jimmie lol
I'm reading The Shining for the first time right now and keep getting things spoiled because I dont remember much in the movie and it's a 50 year old book, that's not he point though, Hallorann, the guy who "teaches" Danny about the shine is *absolutely NOT* supposed to be scary. He is a safety boon for Danny and comes to help when Danny calls out for him after he, Hallorann, tells him to if anything goes wrong. Doesn't matter, I know, but I needed to say it lol
This is definitely not their strong talking point😂I laughed when they said Hallorann was supposed to be a bad guy lol
agree 100%. Backrooms is the worst movie ever, you expect it to build and get better but it stays the same. I would rather have teeth pulled
Tax4a
What is this? Ps I hate this movie? There's a reason I never listened to that podcast.
It's not a dick, chief. No need to take it so seriously
I can't believe Jimmie knew High Tension!!
Deathrow Gameshow, anyone? I'm not sure it's horror... Though for my 15yr old brain, watching a hulking man fuck and then eat a turkey was comedy gold.
I watched original IT when I was eight. Big mistake. HUGE.
In the reboot Freddie was a molester. However, I thought in the original run he was actually good with the kids and the parents falsely accused him and murdered him in his house. Hence his revenge.
No- in the original, Freddie was a kid diddler. He was arrested, but he got off because of a technicality. The parents of Elm street got together, locked Freddie in his work shop and set it on fire. I only ever saw the original movies- I haven’t watched the remake at all.
I was just telling my husband about Evil Dead 2 recently and we watched it. It’s the horror movie that hooked me in 8th or 9th grade. Rented it from El Cheapo video in Coral Springs, FL with my friend and my mom. It blew my mind, loved it. Still one of my favorite flicks.
Hear me out…theme from Jaws…has to be the best tune to bang to. Great rhythm and buildups 😳🤣
Sold!
There were the Girl Scout Camp murders... that's pretty close to being at a camp.
I was gonna say…the OK Girl Scouts would beg to differ.
Omg Alan Tudyk...Resident Alien! One of the best shows ever.
I LOVE YOU GUYS- but, swinging a miss Horror genre critiquing is not your game. The horror genre is amazing and complex, just your opinion on various movies and/or franchises is of little value or insight.
I have to agree. Just because James thinks things are lame he disqualifies them lol.
Anders Brevik killed mostly children at a summer camp but that was more of a terrorist attack
The whole story of Brevic, his extremism and xenophobia, is really dark. The massacre was the end of it, but the rest of truly horrifying. Norway is an amazing place, great people, but there is a growing underbelly of extreme fascism that Brevic swam in.
I like funny horror movies…
I recommend Y2K and Santa Jaws.
Kubrick ruined The Shining. It's absolutely true.
As someone who has been chipping away at a novel I get why King and other writers are protective of their works they feel like children at a certain point.
Hellraiser and the exorcist are still two of my favourite horror films
High Intensity’s end infuriated me
Can you guys just make a list of movie recommendations
Lol...Amy Madigan is awesome... best line ever " I wanna hear the pitter-patter of tiny feet before I die." John Candy's response "I'll get you a mouse and a piece of sheet metal."🤭
Scary ≠ horror! Just because a movie scares you doesn’t mean it’s an actual horror movie.
Man I like James but this is our big line, fiction and suspension of belief is awesome haha. I’m also not Italian tho. Mike Flanagan is also the one who can nail King works to film
The new Carrie TV series directed by Flanagan is great
Silence of the Lambs did win best picture. Sinners and Get Out were nominated. I really liked Heretic too! Oh the vampires not being invited in was also in The Lost Boys! I loved From Dusk Till Dawn but I knew what it was lol. Robert Rodriguez directed that. Great episode!!
Silence of the Lambs is a fantastic film, the visuals, score and teeny tiny details is just 🤌🏻 Perfect casting as well.
Norway Youth Camp Massacre - def do an episode on this
I’m floating over heyaa 😂😂😂
Oh ya, that was some scary shit!
Oooooooh cannot wait to watch High Tension.👯♀️🌙
There was a terrible incident at a Girl Scouts camp.
That Jelly Roll album names, holy shit! Haha
Omgoodsness I've been looking for the name of the movie High Tension for years! I watched that movie the first house I move into and my husband worked nights, just had my son and I rented this movie because I like scary movies. Just had moved to a new house in the woods and there was a huge farm behind my house needless to say their road was right behind my house and I had sliding glass back doors, the road to their house was maybe a half mile behind my house, the first time I watch this movie I never noticed that until it was midnight and they were coming home and there head light were shining threw my back glass doors, needless to say it took me maybe 4 days to watch that movie, could only watch about 30 minutes at a time and then I would have to watch Winnie the Pooh afterwards just to call me down my heart was racing so bad! Best scary movie I ever watched and now I'm gonna watch it again now I finally found out the name. Tell James I'm so sorry I'm terrible about punctuations 😂🤣
Legitimately one of the most brutal movies I've ever seen
Alan Tudyk is also Steve the Pirate from Dodgeball. I absolutely love the way you described Sinners, Jimmie. 😂 I have to check out this Bone Tomahawk, and Heretic. Hatchet is one of my top favorite “newish” gore filled movies. Friggin love you guys! Be well.
Nightmare on Elm Street fucked me up in the early 2000’s😂😂😂😂
Hereditary is the scariest for me. And Train to Busan
Najee! You read my mind, both were great!
Smile genuinely had me terrified. No escape
Smile 2 was insaneeeee!
Is there going to be a Halloween live show?
I don’t know!! I wish we would hear either way…
My favorite horror movie is Trick r’ Treat, but not because it’s scary. I love that it’s several independent stories but they all take place in the same town on the same night and you’ll see them all interconnect in different ways.
I cannot wait to watch it again.
I am a huge evil dead fan. The series was fucking hilarious. I am really bummed Bruce Campbell only has a few more years
Bruce was one of my first actor crushes. Ugh it broke my heart to read about his battle. I hope his last few years are filled with love and support. We are all going to miss him so much!
Let me explain this guy! 🤣
We would rent the worst horror movies we could find, get drunk and spend the night making fun of them.
My friends and I do that too. Slotherhouse and Velocipastor are our favorite finds so far
Tucker & Dale vs Evil is MAGNIFICENT. Alan Tudyk is currently Resident Alien. . Tyler Labine never got the work or recognition he deserves.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil is a staple for my family. It's brilliant
Horror has so many genres it's hard to rate them. Kinda like metal bands. I don't judge people for their preferences - (well, most)
