Stormy, Deadly Night - Selma, North Carolina
This week, in Selma, North Carolina, when two men head out into the dark & stormy night, while sniffing a very crazy substance, and looking for trouble. A strange turn of events finds these wild men horribly murdering an unsuspecting victim, in his own home, with little for the killers to gain. It's a mystery to detectives, until an entire trailer full of people seem to know some serious details about the killing!!
Along the way, we find out that the local festival has WAY too many pageants, that people should really be more careful about the substances they inhale, and that you shouldn't tell everyone in the trailer park about your senseless murder!!

I’m all lacquered up 🤣
You two are absolutely terrific! I look forward to Wednesday evenings like I did when I was drinkin' in my 20's!! Thanks for becoming the best podcasters I've ever heard.
"Unless Skipper's your type!" 😂☠️
“Doing lacquer thinner” has GOT to be on a t shirt or hoodie
This sounds more like a Florida crime.
Killed me when they brought up a potential Middler/Mix-A-Lot duet, hahahahhaha! "You are the Anaconda beneath my buns"
Yall keeping coming with the heat from my home state of NC. I'm from western NC. My aunts went to school with David "Skywalker" Thompson. About 25 min from Gaffney SC. An hour from Asheville and Charlotte. But I just so happen to be working out of town in Clayton NC. But the motel I'm staying at is in Selma. I'm currently making the 4hr drive to Selma. Cool episode to listen to while I'm driving towards the shithole that is Slema NC 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do people really keep spreadsheets of the show? If so, that's a tad much🤦♀️
I literally just keep thinking about Horton hears a who every single fucking time they say his name😂😂😂
This Tammy would have been offended if I wasn't laughing so hard. 🤣

Maybe if our government spent more money on youth activity centers in these small, disadvantaged towns (instead of their glorified "War on Drugs"), shit like this wouldn't happen so much! Meth and Fentanyl will continue to be a problem so long as there is demand for it. And demand will continue as long as these kids have nothing else to do. When will our government EVER get it?!
This one felt like it went by so fast!
My son when he was about four always said Horston Hears a Whose so that was adorable. Anyway doing lacquer or the thinner or fuck I can't remember, you know what I mean. I am from the city and growing up I did not hang with anyone who did drugs but the ones on the edge of my circle did weed and pills and real liquor. Then in our 20s folks did cocaine like normal people, allegedly. Now, I have never heard of this quaint pastime of doing lacquer accessories?? But my boyfriend is super country and we'll leave his drug history where it is, moving on. I am going to ask him right now if he has heard of huffing lacquer and I can almost promise he will have heard of it, have cousins/buddies who were into it, and also some of those people will be dead now, because that's how his stories in this vein go. Stay tuned
James, I used to have a neighbor who had a bumper sticker that said, “Italians don’t die. They just pasta way.”

“Tammys have sweat marks on their face while they’re blowing you” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh, Jimmie.
80's Tammy, yeah
Lacquer riff was awesome “Jimmie had a scholarship to MIT “ ruined me 🤣
Thank you for using the term "Glamour Shots" 😂 It's a certain type of headshot from like a decade-wide window of time 🤩 which I'm constantly citing while I watch murder shows... Sus.
I vividly remember my mom getting ready to go take glamour shots at the department store
Uttering is presenting a false instrument to an institution, I.e. , a fake check to a bank.
I lived in a small town not too far from Selma in 1989. It was like being in 1965.
Didn't expect my Uncle Tommy and Aunt Tammy to be taking strays today.
As a long time JoCo attorney, this was my favorite ep. I’ve been waiting 739 episodes for this day. And I’ll just say, every aspect of this story fully tracks
This story inspired the lesser known children's book "Horton Hears a Hillbilly"
This has got to be up there with some of the more senseless murders. Dude was just chilling in his trailer during a storm. Fucked up
Holy shit 4 mins
I don't understand Jimmie's, comment about Batman knocking a pedophile off the charts re: Ghostbusters II, can someone explain?
I think he's referring to the dude who played Vigo the Carpathian. See CIS #431 for details
The book you’re thinking of with the cook who sniffs lacquer thinner is Kitchen Confidential!
Smelma
🎶 Keep on sniffen till your brain goes pop 🎶
hahaha came here to make a Primus comment
Apparently, someones haven't read their Dr. Seuss. 😆🧐
It took almost 40 minutes, and finally "Horton heard / who" comes up. we'll see if they acknowledge it, I'm commenting as I'm listening 😂
Same!!..I was SURE they’d jump on that shit, haha
“Horton hears someone, but he doesn’t know who”… Answer- Horton Hears a Who!…duhh ;)
Wait the show has a format for what states they go to? I had no idea there was a pattern and I’ve listened to literally every episode 😮
