The roast of the area is accurate, except for Bridge Day lol Fayetteville is one of my absolute favorite towns in the world and is weirdly liberal. there is some amazing white water rafting on the new river but otherwise there’s literally nothing happening there lol look up Gauley Fest - it’s so unhinged and backwoods, great for some trashy fun

You left out the most important part of bridge day and why it is so crazy! BASE jumpers jump off the bridge! As a park ranger, I decided to move to Fayette county after witnessing bridge day. It is terrifying and fascinating. You should check it out if you get a chance.

Can confirm, shotgun blasts in a room while trying to sleep is LOUD AF. happened to me, I just pretended to stay asleep so they would go away. Shooting out the window. This happened in a deep southern ohio half abandoned house, so basically WV. Lol college was weird 😂 (no one died)

James, you totally missed the point of Bridge Day. It’s the biggest BASE jumping festival in the world. Over 300 lunatics sign up to jump off the bridge with a parachute pack strapped to their backs. There will be over 700 jumps during the festival. All of the other things you mentioned are just side shows to the main event. Most people go to bridge day to watch the BASE jumpers to see if they make it.

So as a born and breed West Virginian I can tell you all there are places in this state you NEED to have the windows down. So if you hear banjos playing you can get the hell out of there.

I’ll admit (which I’ve been sober 7, almost 8, years now) I have drank, snorted coke and random pills, smoked pot/ things “” all in the same day, all day, MULTIPLE times, and sometimes multiple days in a row nonstop, like never falling asleep.
