Upcoming Changes:
Hello everyone!
Going to be making some changes to the Patreon tiers soon.
When I started this, three tiers was the standard. Every Patreon I looked at had them, and most used the same basic pricing -- 5, 10, 20. Made sense to stick with what people were used to.
After running it for a while though, three tiers is one more than I actually need.
The $5 tier makes sense on its own. Between me and the support staff, the time we put into helping people work through issues adds up more than most people realize. That tier covers it.
The problem was always the $10 and $20 tiers. Both of them were early access. Early access keeps things manageable when something isn't fully baked yet, and it reflects the time that goes into figuring out new approaches and building them out -- which is also more than most people think. But one tier handles that fine. Two was just redundant.
So: $5 for support, $15 for early access.
Silver tier members are grandfathered into Early Access at their current rate -- no surprise price changes. Bronze becomes Support, Gold becomes Early Access, and Gold members will see their fee drop from $20 to $15. No one goes up.
There may still be a third tier at some point -- something focused on Lua help, custom snippets, that kind of thing -- but I'm not adding it until I have enough time to run it properly.
If you notice things shifting around over the next little while, that's what's going on.
