I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic elementary school. In second grade we learned about Judaism for some reason. To further this lesson in the most Catholic way possible, our teacher told us that we'd be playing dreidel and that we had to bring in some kind of fake currency (raisins, pogs, chocolate chips, etc.) so that we could partake in the Jewish pastime of gambling. Several of my classmates and I forgot to bring our currencies, and my teacher's solution to this was to line each of us up and give us all spankings in front of the whole class. Just one example of the classic, shame-based education that I have totally recovered from. Fuck the church.
