play! progress report (01/09/2025)

This month was 100% dedicated to a series that we already had some games confirmed as playables, but with so much left to test: Dot Hack. I've already verified the first 3 main games (the 4th is still left for... next month probably), but now I've decided to poke at the Dot Hack G.U. part of the series. We've previously checked them and one annoying issue was found related to frameskipping, which made gameplay not that fluid and kinda hard to play. With this issue fixed, all the Dot Hack GU games are finally fully playable, with good performance and no known issues (and by the amount of hours I've put into the entire games quests/side quests/post game content, I doubt there's anything left to fix). With that said, let's see the hecking hack list of new playables from this month:

New verified playable games [08/2025]:

• Dot Hack Part 3: Outbreak

• Dot Hack G.U. Vol 1

• Dot Hack G.U. Vol 2

• Dot Hack G.U. Vol 3

The details for all the games are pretty much the same (at least for the Dot Hack G.U. games): frameskipping issues fixed and no more polygon explosions at the portals. Dot Hack Part 3: Outbreak was yet again just the matter of finding some extra time to finish it (same as the 4th game that I'll test next mont if nothing goes wrong).

And what I meant with "if nothing goes wrong"? Well, this month I had a major issue with my PC: the power supply started to die on me (as in anything slightly more intensive than running the browser would make the entire thing turn off and restart). Long story short: I had to buy a new one and the issue was solved, and this was only possible due to the support from you lovely supporters on Patreon, otherwise I would be unable to use my PC properly for at least some months (no so more results or reports as well, since running play! would also make it shutdown almost instantly).

With all that finished and issues solved, what's the next game (or should I say series of games...) I'll be working on? I won't tell, but I'll leave a pretty obvious clue at the end of this report ;) . Thanks for all the support and see you all next month <3
