If the first startup of the launcher triggers a 'Windows protected your PC' message, click 'More info' and 'Run anyway ' .
The Wild Life launcher will take care of downloading from a custom server for you. This still doesn't include patching as we aren't quite there with that system yet, but it will download from a custom server so you don't have to deal with different confusing file hosts and their limitations anymore. Our goal is to run the entire build distribution via the launcher someday.

How do I get this to actually download? I have tried both MEGA and GoFile for both the launcher and classic direct and all I am getting is "An exception occurred during a WebClient Request". Is there a certain order I have to download this in or something? Any help is appreciated.
There are some things one can try, such as temporarily disabling ipv6 in network settings (https://adamtheautomator.com/disable-ipv6/) Starting launcher as admin Moving launcher and target folder to a different drive
Bad Gateway 502 at about 50% download via the launcher. And just persists, we shall see what happens in a couple hours. Mega download of full game finished ok, but not to happy to have to use their web extension to get it. Edit: After some play time. I can see a bit more of the vision now with more than just the demo. Burnt a few hours pretty easily since pulling the mega DL. Not much for discord so I doubt you see me on there.
How do you access chapter 4?
Are there any other download methods? I use the launcher to download too slowly.
Getting "A D3D11-compatible GPU (Feature Level 11.0, Shader Model 5.0) is required to run the engine." message and wont launch. I have a 5060, what can I do about this?
New here, love the game concept. Having trouble running the current version of the game, choppy movement. Didnt see any notifications of it connecting to server. Launcher will not download any build even though it is logged in.
I think the story is poor like to set up scenes its good but the game is so bugged so many lost textures and quest guidance is ass
Did the 'test minigame' sex scene with the lady you help pull the weeds of and it crashed my whole computer when it was finished, black screens and nothing else.
@Adeptus Steve ... OK, I've paid over $100 supporting this dev/game and it won't download. Corsair 2tb SSD, running as administrator, 5600x, B550, 32gb, 3060ti, hard wired internet (Not a potato just yet). All my games, itch.io downloads, software, etc ... install/download perfectly. Would like a fix please, or suggestion. Per my previous comment: I get an error "An exception occurred during the WebClient request" at less than 25%, I've tried this 3 times.
If you're having trouble with it, just download the whole game—it works great!
it just won't download through the launcher: "An exception occurred during a WebClient Request" ive tried both the MEGA and GoFile, and tried to install it to both HDDs and SDDs (m.2)
Hey, I know I am late with this, but if you are still having this issue, just launch the launcher as an admin, then it will work. Had the same issue but this fixed it.
I am also having the same problem as Tobor. Though I will mention I am doing the downloading through a connected drive and not the solid state. I'll be testing to see if that fixes but, if this remains unedited or gets left posted then the issue still stands. Note: The issue continued even after trying to download the 10$ Build. This time instead of stopping at 25% it failed at 50%. Fix: It needs a solid state versus a hard drive.
Actually this does not always work. I have only SSDs in my PC, the Launcher still aborts the download with the WebClient error. VPN also does not help. Have you downloaded on drive C:\?

If your using a hard drive versus a solid state. Thats the issue. Thats what mine was at least.
Just downloaded the new build and noticed the grass is showing through all the buildings and props
I apologize if this has come up before; I just switched from Windows to Linux Pop OS since i use Nvidia GPU. Has anyone tried to make Wildlife work on a Linux OS? What OS and method did it work?
Simplest way is using Steam, add the game executable as a non-steam game, then select one of the more recent proton versions from the compatibility settings in the game properties (proton 10.4 worked fine on the december build). Alternatively, you can look into using Lutris or Bottles.
The time of day goes by too fast in sandbox mode and there is no longer a setting to adjust it so it's just stuck
The setting has been moved, you can find it in the sandbox weather and general light settings. (cloud symbol at the top left in your sandbox editor)

The settings options seem to have been greatly stripped down. Under the "Game" section of the settings, the time interval no longer appears, and day and night keeps cycling rapidly in my previous saved session in Sandbox mode.
That setting has been moved to the sandbox lighting and weather control settings
