Wild Life Roadmap Update | Progress Towards 2026 Release
Hello Wild Life Community!
Back in March, we shared our ambitious plans leading towards the full release of Wild Life. We promised to revisit and refine our roadmap this July, diving deeper into our internal plans and giving you more detailed insights into our progress. Today, we're delivering on that promise.

Reflecting on our Journey
As mentioned previously, Wild Life started as a small passion project. Over time, our vision evolved significantly, driven by your support and feedback. This growth has helped us overcome many challenges, teaching us critical lessons about large-scale game development.
July Roadmap Update – A Closer Look
Following our latest internal review, we've now entered the detailed planning phase for the second half of this year, setting a solid and actionable plan towards release. We're pleased to report good progress across all major areas, including workflow efficiency, combat refinement, and the development of key game locations and quests. You can see our weekly updates with screenshots and detailed insights for ongoing development.
Context for Today's Roadmap Video
Our accompanying video goes into greater depth, highlighting recent progress, showcasing key updates, and providing a visual look at our detailed roadmap refinement. Be sure to check it out and see how Wild Life is progressing!
Payment Providers & Platform Stability
We are aware of the current volatility across platforms due to major payment provider policies, especially on Steam and itch.io. We have prepared for such situations and continue to act accordingly. We still plan to release Wild Life on Steam in 2026. Should we encounter any challenges we cannot overcome despite our preparations, the community will be informed immediately, along with our proposed solutions.
On Track for Release
Development is currently on schedule, and we look forward to announcing the exact release date around May next year. We reaffirm our release window: Wild Life will launch fully on Steam between August and December 2026. This release will not be Early Access but a complete and immersive experience from day one, with our Sandbox mode following in 2027 as a free DLC.
Stay Connected and Involved
Your continued engagement is crucial for our success. Keep following our Trello roadmap and join the ongoing discussions on Discord. Your voice shapes Wild Life, and we're committed to making a game worthy of your incredible support.
Thank you for your patience, excitement, and invaluable feedback. Together, we're making Wild Life a reality.
With gratitude,
The Wild Life Team

Thank you for the massive efforts, this game will be amazing. It would be so cool in the future if you considered collaborations for cameos or DLCs featuring celebrities or youtubers after release 😆.
you guys have been working hard and I'm happy to hear about the release to be dropped soon. keep up the awesome work.
I'm so happy for you guys! So many games like this get abandoned. You have stuck with it for years. I'm happy I've been able to support you all this time. Go forth!
What are the post release plans? Will there be any more content updates passednthe sandbox?
thank you for all you do IM SO EXCITED :)
Why can't I remove chars clothes and change them anymore on full version?
Thx for the update
Call me crazy but still think you guys need to have a gorilla character
Important question to users in certain regions: Will the free sandbox DLC be a separate (free) DLC product on Steam which we'll have to add to our library separately, or will it be an update that's automatically applied to the base game? Here's the thing: In regions where the game is blocked, you should still be able to activate it via a key purchase, for example; but to my knowledge, you cannot activate free products in the same way. That'd mean people in regions where the game is blocked have ways of legally purchasing it, but will never be able to get the free DLC as long as it's a separate (free) product.
Great work, team! The game is really good, although it could use more anthropomorphic furry races for example, rabbit, deer, crocodile, bird, or dragon.??
As far as I know, in germany Steam allows no adult content, because they do not fullfill the requirements of german government regarding such content. So I hope we germans can still get everything via patreon? PS: Indras backhead is still too bis. Hair is still clipping massively.
I have a question regarding the full release. Since you announced that the Sandbox will be release later on 2027, will we still be able to use it as we currently do while waiting for the Steam release or will you shut it down?
That's a good question.
I've been following WL since 2017 or so because of its unique tribal aesthetic among RPGs. And the sexy stuff of course. It's awesome to see it all coming together with all the blockouts, props, and iterations of each town and region. Final stretch you guys!
You guys are doing a fantastic job! So many projects got stuck in far earlier phases and come to an end. Wildlife is on a solid way to become a very well done game. Keep on going! You'll get it done!
I will leave my full comments on youtube but just one here; anyone who once said, there is no plan for WL, it's not going anywhere, now they can eat and suck on those words
