"Powerslave" (Iron Maiden) Solos Lesson/Analysis
It's been a pretty long time since we last looked at some Maiden so I think it's finally time to tick this absolute legendary classic off the list! Often regarded as not only the best solo section the band ever wrote, but also one of the greatest of all time, Powerslave is an epic masterpiece and true textbook example of perfect classic Metal soloing.
This is an awesome project for solid intermediate players, with both Dave's creamy, Blues-y legato runs and Adrian's more technical 80s licks will providing a modest challenge.
Good luck and don't forget to share your progress with everyone in the Discord server!

My favourite Maiden solo! Always loved how it combines a more laid back phrasing with that beautiful slow and soulful B minor Murray solo only to follow with a more energetic lead by Smith! The whole song is just flawless! Now that there's an accurate tab available I'll finally be able to try and learn it! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hey Bradley! Do you think you could cover one of megadeth’s new songs please? I would really appreciate it!
Thanks , never played this right until now !! In that hard lick from Adrian's solo, we also hit that A# (3rd fret in the G string) , would that be considered harmoni minor scale ? 🤔
Yeah would indeed be harmonic minor!
Thanks Bradley!!!!
I always though that Gates of Babylon was an influence on them for this track with the Phrygian mode groove, so more Blackmore than Santana. Interesting.
Well tbh for a song with an Egyptian theme the solo really doesn't have anything vaguely Phrygian minus 1 small lick haha, kinda funny
Thank you Bradley for this stuff 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've been subscribed to several creators here for the past few years and have finally decided to just follow you. It's more important for me to be able to play some of my favorite music than just exercises and etudes. You cover all the bases🤘🏻
Cheers Paul!
Awesome solo, thanks! Particularly nice to see an intermediate one with good tremolo action and a mandatory dive bomb face finish! Will definitely give it a crack.
Hearing you say bar in an American accent just fried my cranium
❤️
Im so glad you made this haha I'm playing it live soon and need to practice alottttt 🤘🙏
Hell yeah, great timing!
