Our best Christmas mission yet? [annual mission with Welsh Greg '25]
Evening $4 crew!
It's your annual Christmas mission with our good friend Welsh Greg, and this one shaped up to be a belter. It has it all; fresh unexplored countryside, gorgeous sleepy villages, a mission through a stately home, hearty food and ale, and the friendliest, most generous of country folk you could ask for.
We had a great time as always, but it was only when I started editing this thing up that I realised just how magical this day really was.
As i mentioned before, you're getting two adventures in quick succession to make up for the long gap, and next week me and Uncle Ed will be attempting to Cook Christmas dinner in the forest...

How does Welsh Greg look 5 years younger than the adventure you did with him 5 years ago 🤔
seeing welsh greg wearing a south carolina gamecocks sweater both warms and hurts my heart (south carolina native whose team is the gamecocks arch rivals)
Greg's resemblance to Roger Black is eerie.
I wish the small towns in Ireland were as beautiful as the English ones. Yous do it well tbf
When I stayed with an old gf at her grandparents on their small holding, the manor hall there used to be owned by The Templar's, so badly want to sneak out at night and look for The Holy Grail etc.
Sounds like a fascinating bit of history!
Welsh Greg seems like such a great buddy to have. Cheers to you both. My brother and I are American and next month we’re taking a trip across the pond on a family ancestry pilgrimage, and your videos have inspired us to favor walking and hitchhiking in the rural Kent countryside rather than car or train, where we can help it. Can’t wait to meet some proper English country blokes and put down some pints in the pubs. Our final destination is the White Cliffs of course. It’s going to be glorious reaching the very edge of the island, and there’s no better traveling companion to have than my own brother, for my money. Belated Merry Christmas boys
What a great idea Nick. You won't go wrong in rural Kent! plenty of cosy English pubs and lovely patchwork countryside. Enjoy mate!
welsh greg is a god amongst us
I'd tell him you said that but i fear it might go to his head
Cracking one as usual Tom, and always a pleasure to see welsh Greg, it made me want to rewatch the Scotland mission and How Not To Travel America as those are two of my favorite series on the channel, might actually do that later 😂 In any case Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well!
Thanks Emanuele! I might have to do that the next time I link up with Greg. It's been too long!
Tremendous adventure Mr wizard, merry Christmas to you as well!
Thank you! glad you enjoyed :)
Thanks for another great one Tom :) please tell me it's not long until the new Straight Line Mission drops. Don't think I can wait much longer 😅
Thank you for watching! No mission filmed just yet I'm afraid. I'm nursing a toe injury and trying to get back up to fitness but also have a baby coming in a month. It's a bit of a race against time, but If I don't get one filmed this winter I'll do my best to film one in the summer!
I hope you can do more adventures with Greg this year!
Unfortunately with Greg living in DC it's really tricky. We don't get to link up very often and when we do it's brief. You never know though!
Always a pleasure to see Welsh Greg coming back from America
I concur. It goes too quick!
Always great seeing Welsh Greg 🫡
ain't it just!
You've got to get back to that manor for their annual pagan ritual: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbots_Bromley_Horn_Dance
Wow how have I never heard of this? what an ancient tradition. I've got check it out this year!
Thank you again Tom, fun. I work with 'Lady Bagot', she's a treasure. Plus another lovely colleague is a lady who was until recently Hixon's premiere dog groomer until she jacked it in to get her own dog collar :D
oh wow! it's a shame we didn't bump into her at the church! don't tell her I snook through her land will you haha
*Instantly Google Albino Pheasant* 😂
Same. They're beautiful !
Did Greg go vegetarian to help with his condition that I can't remember the name of?
Thay would make sense
Now you're just spoiling us ❤️
Glad you think so!
Greg AND Ed?! Very much looking forward to Calamity Ed burning the forest down or something.
Haha plenty of clumsy moments don't you worry
Great video!! These make my day every time, super neat seeing how drastically different the UK is to where I live in the United States. If I wanted to do something like this I would get shot for trespassing or have to cross a giant highway.
we truly are blessed to be able to galivant like we do. Thanks William!
You gotta bring Welsh Greg back in more vids. You're "How not to travel Europe" series was among the best things I've ever seen on YouTube and the friendship was really great to see.
yes please , the best series on the geowizzard channel to date
WELSH GREG!!!
The legend himself
Nice one Tom, think there might be something up with the shop section, just shows videos not the art work? Anyway looking forward to this later.
