Time to dive into my one day make!

Nothing was matching the tone of the velvet skirt I had made to wear as the finale look for Verdigris, and you know what? Even this evening bodice doesn't match either!! This deep cool tone of brown is just so hard to find a match for, I think I might have to take the scraps of remaining velvet and try and make a top out of them...

Anyhow, I managed to make a stays inspired evening bodice with a sprinkling of sequins in about 10-12 hours total and wear it the next day in the look book. I'm excited to keep experimenting with this concept and refine the whole idea into something that fits even better and reflects my vision a little more!

Thank you so much for your support!

Not able to watch right this minute, but what you've made is stunning! Can't wait to watch later today 🥰 Also, would live to see a top made from scraps of a previous project!

Thank you Karoline!

Love the stays! <3 I think I'll try to use the generator as well. Have been trying to get a decent stays pattern for my body type, but so far all attempts have failed miserably.

You look like Natalie Wood and Theda Bara with this makeup. You sure can play dress-up! The outfit is lovely and I like how the metal hooks on the cape tie into the watch gears at the start of the lookbook. The music in that, by the way, was really great. I was also thinking about how nice it is, hearing you say again (and again) how you've got a dream job.🥰

Thank you Penny! I 100% have my dream job and feel so lucky to get to create everyday ❤

Wow! You just threw the stays together so easily! I've been trying for a couple years to get it right! I'll keep trying & you have given me the whatever to go on with it! THANX! 😊

Thanks Marcie! You can do it!! These super basic cone ones are easier than later 18th century styles I think 😅

Oh my gosh this is so fantasy and lovely! I would really really appreciate a short makeup tutorial on the looks you did for this lookbook!!!! Just put it on Patreon if the main channel doesn’t like it. Please???

Thank you Thea! I don't have a great set up/space for filming makeup videos which is part of the problem, hopefully I can set something up in my next house! This look from Verdigris was heavily inspired by Pat McGrath's work for Galliano/Dior shows 🤩

You inspire me so much! You also make my little girl in me sing. Thank you for that! I sent a link to your channel to my old high school friend. We used to do photo shoots at the park with my crazy costumes. She won a scholarship to art school. If we had had the access to this kind of technology, I can only imagine how our lives would have been so different. I am so glad that you get to have this as a job. I truly hope more young women can make a living with creating as you do. I am sure there are drawbacks, there always are. But I think this must be as close to being equal to men, economically, as anyone can get.

Thank you Julie! I often think of how lucky I am to get to "play dress up" the same way I did as a kid on a far grander scale ❤

This was such an interesting set of stays. I've been wanting to make some, but they all seem like so much work. I can definitely make some from this pattern generator -- thanks for sharing! I've made several corsets and hate the mockup boning, so I'm very excited to learn about gaffer tape! I've watched a fair few of your videos and the journey you've been on the last 3ish years is just so inspiring. I'm excited to see what you make next! ps: any chance you'll make sparkly butterflies to go along with the cicadas and moths? I have a tattoo that's almost identical to one you made. (edited to add: my use of exclamation marks is a bit much, but I won't apologize LOL)

Thank you Kenzie! I will definitely make some butterflies, I have a gown coming soon I hope to add some butterfly embroider to as well 🦋

I have gone all out and drafted myself a pattern block. My question is how do you get your paper to stay flat on the table? I’m having to use whatever to keep it from curling up and that makes any pattern manipulation harder. Any suggestions

Rolled paper can be a bitch. I use pattern weights that look like giant buttons, but you could also use other small heavy objects, like nuts (you know, the technical ones made from metal, not actual nuts, haha) or glue the edges down with tape.

I've used this pattern generator before also and it worked great for me too! As a plus sized person, who is very short waisted, it's great finding patterns that fit on the first try.
