A High Slit Pencil Skirt

Hello there! I'm supposed to be writing this weekend, but after deciding to delete most of a chapter yesterday and realizing I needed to work on the structure and plot in more of an 'open a new spreadsheet' kind of way instead of a 'fun writing dialog' way, I'm taking a break to clip the loose threads for this week's upcoming videos!

Today we're diving into how I made the high side slit pencil skirt that you may have spotted me wearing in Synapse. This time I made it in a flecked wool instead of a solid, and made the slit on the opposite side so it's, ahem, totally different and worth making a second skirt. Also putting this thumbnail together really makes me realize I am due for a haircut, as my bob is so much longer than it was when I filmed Synapse. I'm thinking about growing my bangs out maybe...but I digress.

I'll be back again soon with another video here on Patreon about the blue metallic cowl top I'm wearing in this video, and I have two other knit top styles coming to the channel this week. It's video mania over here, I don't actually know how I've managed to get them all together!

Hopefully I can figure out the chapter of doom soon too, a new angle is needed so it's kill your darlings open season in that document. Luckily no one sees these things but me, but I hope one day you can read the story too...after I perfect it ✨

Have a good rest of the weekend and I'll see you again very shortly!

Is that a new pin dish? The little gold one, it's very pretty and so is your outfit. The music during your voiceover sounded a bit like Miles Davis' album, Kind of Blue, a real classic and your top is certainly "kind of blue", too!

I got the pin dish for Christmas! ✨ Thank you Penny!

Basements are on east coast in older homes. As always good video.

Amazing! I have been putting off making a very similar top to the cowl neck blue one as I am not 100% sure how to do it. I can't wait to be able to follow along. Also love the skirt and thinking I might randomly try an A-line with a front slit?

Thank you Amie! You can definitely do this with an A-line as well! The slit might be a little less scandalous while walking compared to this one, as there will be room in the flare, so the slit isn't as needed to facilitate movement the way it is in a narrowed pencil ✨

Yay! New video! Also, if you're in the "open a new spreadsheet" land, I highly suggest you check out investing in Scrivener. For large writing projects, it's the best software. Moving up from MS Office to Scrivener is like upgrading from MS Paint to Photoshop.

Thanks Teri! I'm very low tech with writing for sure, I even use physical sticky notes on a table to be able to arrange things 😂✨

Thanks for the visit… stuck in the hospital and feeling sorry for myself…

The extra length added to the skirt was chef’s kiss!

Thanks Thea! I do truly prefer a longer skirt 😅

Perfectly timed--I was just taking a much needed break from my own writing project. I've just finished a nice "fun dialogue" section and now need to tackle the less fun, but necessary "establish logistics to get all the characters to the right spot before pulling all the plot threads together" part. A <20 minute sewing video distraction was very welcome! I'm looking forward to the blue cowl neck top video. I love that shirt!

Thanks Sarah! We've all been there 😅 Sometimes those pesky characters really need to elaborate on how everything fell into or out of place so we can write it down for them, honestly...
