Is your serger not working or is there another reason why you don't sew knits with it?

The serger is old and the tension is way out of wack, and it doesn't have a blade, I will upgrade to a new machine once I move later in the year! I just use it to encase raw edges of woven fabrics as a seam finish is all

If my machine acts up, it is usually wanting a cleaning and some oil.

True facts for sure ✨

Beautiful! And indeed a pity they don’t have it in green. I bind my back neck with a bias when having a cowl neck. Also I sew the facing into the shoulderseams, so it doesn’t flip over and out and those kind of things 😂

Thank you Diana! Yes I definitely will go with binding next time for sure!!

I WISH I had the confidence to sew these types of things … you make it ALL look so simple!!

Knits, especially floopy ones are intimidating for sure! I just try to use them sparingly so I don't get too frustrated 😂

Oh thank you Bianca! I noticed that neckline in your recent video and I WANTED it!

I have sewn a few knit cowl neck patterns, and they usually have you finish the back neck with a regular fold-over hem, and then sew the shoulder seams. This seems to be the easiest method that I have tried.

T

Does this mean they have the back neckline as a straight line, aka straight across instead of curved, I imagine so? That would be an easy way to fix the whole shebang for sure!

OMG, those metallic fabrics you've been using are so pretty!! I just need to get my basic bodice bloc done so I can play around with these amazing patterns!!
