A Black, White, & Holographic Dress
She's not perfect, but still pretty dang cute! And yes, I'm afraid that I do indeed now have matching holographic shoes to pair with this becuase I have become a fully iridescent being 😅
I think I'll have to make the black widow spider-ish red and black, new and improved, version of this design next month, becuase making Halloween dresses in July is not silly, it's just being prepared 🎃🦇🕸

Imperial trooper commander or Dark Accademia at Harry Potter uni! Really stylish, anyway!
So fun and graphic, vintage and space age at the same time!
Epic sleeves! Love them. Definitely film noir dame worthy imo.
No so THIS is Arachnia, Queen of the Spider People’s prime minister, the red one was her general.
But I have a black an red very black widow spider coming up next 😂🕷️
I love the dress and learned a lot from watching you make it. I would defiantly like to see you do the neck facing again in another garment. Then i would have different views to try and understand it better :)
Thank you Kathy! Will definitely be doing the facings this way again in the next video with hopefuly more clarity!
Hi, As usual you're way over my head, but that's okay. I'm not up to that theoretical sewing level yet, but I will be some time in the future. Also as usual, the dress is stunning. You have said that the iridescent fabric can be used as swimwear. Do you know if it has USP factor to it? I can see the material as part of, or maybe even a complete, rashguard for beach wear and swimming. That should confuse the fish when snorkeling, and be a great camouflage if you just want to sit peacefully and read a book😎. I found out that we can get a few things from JoAnns(?) here in Europe too now. No coupons that I've seen so far though. If I may impart the wisdom from one of the most famous singers in my country, Elisabeth Söderlund. She says in her biography (transposed from my language) Don't tell your audience all of the things you did wrong. They wouldn't have noticed them until you told them. And this is from me: just say thank you gracefully, and smile and wave, just smile and wave. Yours, Ann
This is very true.
Red and black = kylo ren dress to go with the storm trooper? Just sayin, it would make an amazing pair…
Glanced at the thumbnail earlier and thought the outfit was just black and white - it looks super cool even without the holo aspect. Could be out of Beetlejuice, or the Addams family, with the black and white aesthetic.
Thank you Nicole! The sharp contrast is quite fun to work with for sure!
Ahhhhh! I love it! 😍
Thank you Sarah!
I think you do an excellent job of walking us through what is an inherently creative process filled with on-the-fly decisions. This sort of tutorial helps others understand that the creative process is not always going to be tidy and neat and exactly as you envisioned. Good job! Always love watching you figure out where you’re going to go with the project. The dress is awesome.
Thank you Debra! You have explained exactly the issue with these more fluid design sessions where I am really just coloring outside the lines a bit 😂 Trying to explain why my silly little brain doeswhat it does when I hardly know most of the time gets interesting!
This really does seem storm trooper like. I hope you rule with an iron fist!
It's all a ruse to steal some advanced tie fighter schematics ✨
Apparently I'm one of the people whose brain works the same as yours, since every time you ask "Does that make sense?" my immediate reaction is "Yes...? Of course?" (Side note: just a gentle reminder that it's not only ladies who had our rights stripped away yesterday.)
Thank goodness someone gets what I'm trying to say when I explain these things! (and yes I certainly agree, and not only is it anyone who can become pregnant has been striped of rights, but also even the rights of cis men who don't want to be parents either! None of it makes any sense)
Lovely, once again. I want this as a coat, with the holo bits near the waist as facing folded back. I think the black yoke on the back is a nice touch, as the holo stands out better against it. I learn so much from you -- you explain things several times each video so if I don't get it the first time I do later on, and the hand gestures you make as you're working, pointing out pieces and such, are something I wish other YTers would do.
Thank you Cheryl! I personally learn best through repetition, so that translates to my trying to explain anything as well 😅 I do try to remember as I work that the camera is watching, but sometimes I go to edit and judge the camera lady (also me...) quite harshly 🤣
Actually, I’m glad I couldn’t follow all the sleeve gyrations in the first part of the video. Shows how much effort and creativity goes into your dresses!
It is hard to explain how my brain is working when even I don't really know most of the time 🤣
you say 'iridescent being' like that's a bad thing... ;-D
Do space queens wear headgear? Hint hint :) Beautiful as always 🖤
Ha! I think feather headbands at least are on the schedule!
That last sentence is my new life motto
Very cool! It looks like something one of the crystal gems in Steven Universe would wear. Hopefully the kitties don’t delay your tattoo appointment with their shenanigans. ❤️
Thank you Mary! Unfortunately the plague has instead delayed my tattoo appointment and it has had to be rescheduled due to the artist having to quarantine, but safety first!
This dress is gorgeous! Definitely not a beginner project. You did a great job of matching the top stitching as well as the seams. That’s hard work! I’m interested to see again how you sewed the facings. I always learn something new with each of your videos and really appreciate your creativity and your sharing the techniques with us. Thank you! Sending best wishes from Down Under 💚💚💚📚💐🌺🇦🇺😎
Thank you Rhonda! I will do the facings better and with more clarity on the next one I want to make for sure!
We're always our own worst critic; this is absolutely stunning!!
Thank you! Too true 😅
OMG 🤩 THIS TOO GORGEOUS!!!
Thank you Mary!
