How is it nearing December...HOW!? I have so much sewing to do, oh my goodness πŸ˜‚ Luckily I have basically added another entire 1890's bodice to my to-do list this week, I'll tell you what I've got in mind...

Have you looked into actually getting an intern? I’m sure you can find a program where you can find an unpaid intern for school credit. I worked in an interior design firm where we had several unpaid interns that would work for a semester. It would help you with the grunt work, and most of the time, they are pleased for the exposure into their future field.

Alas I would never want to have anybody work for me unpaid! I would feel terrible πŸ˜… I work from my family home anyways, so it would be strange to let anyone else in our space. Unfortunately I don't have many tasks I can unload on another person, I just need another clone of myself!

I love the lookbooks!

Your plans for the new year will be a better balance for you and your channel. Mental health is the most important and should always come first. Looking forward to your talents and wish you and your family well during the holidays! By the way I have had colds where the coughs have lasted up to two months ...so annoying

T
The Closet Historian Β· December 1, 2021

Thank you Margo ❀

I’m not much into anime, but I do love potatoes. You take care of yourself! 🐝

Since you mention Blade Runner 2049, I would love to see you pattern some of the clothes out! The costumes were amazing. I think you are spot on recording several pattern drafts in a day, edit them and upload them over time. You work harder than any other YouTuber I've seen. So much great content!

T
The Closet Historian Β· November 26, 2021

Thank you Michael! The costumes in 2049 worked very well in the film for sure, but I don't think they would work as well in my own wardrobe I fear, though the first Blade Runner film and Rachel's suits are a huge yes from me 😍

Well, I like your Look-books! They are fun to watch. Love mashed potatoes. Is your mom's whipped or lumpy? I like them all. Have a great Thanksgiving!

T
The Closet Historian Β· November 26, 2021

Thank you Rob! My mom does them whipped for holiday meals and we usually have handmashed for "regular" meals πŸ˜‚ I'd love to have a vegetarian Friendsgiving one day with a half dozen different potato dishes ✨

Mashed potatoes and the things you can make with them the next day are kind of my whole point of even doing the holiday dinner. :D Have you considered making writing part of your Patreon tiers? This depends heavily on how comfortable you are sharing, of course. In addition to (possible?) anxiety about reception of the work, I would totally understand some paranoia about security (e.g. will people share it, will someone use it as "inspiration," etc.). But if you do not feel that, having it on your list as part of your job, so to speak, might allow you to more easily take time for working on the story. As someone who has, so far, been unwilling to share her writing online publicly unless it's basically fan fiction, I could relate to that. But it's an idea?

T
The Closet Historian Β· November 26, 2021

I wouldn't mind releasing some writing here on Patreon in the future yes! It's just my current work-in-progress story that I don't want to πŸ˜… If I get to start working on The Millionaire Milliner, I may release that here, but I want to finish the other manuscript I'm in the middle of first before I can work on that. The current story I'm working on is just too close to my heart to let out in the world lightly ❀ I actually have my second book (of the series I'm working on) out with some beta readers right now and I'm super nervous for their feedback πŸ˜‚

I would love to see a video of you creating the branch display for your bug broaches! That sounds beautiful

Thank you Kathy, I'm quite excited about it! I just have to finish this gown first and then I'm diving in!

Yay! Thanks for dropping this today. I’ve got to venture out in the cold rain (how very un-ABQ) and get dog food … then I’m coming home for holiday baking (peach pie with neighbors peaches πŸ˜‹ and scratch bread and dinner rolls) and it will be fun to have you there with me!

T

Scratch bread and dinner rolls sound so amazing! 🀩 I love bread ❀

Don't sleep on Michaels for cloches, although Ikea really is stellar for smaller ones. I same-day-ed a good sized cloche from a Michaels seasonal collection last year, and they carry a variety of terrarium situations as part of their standard stock. Related to terraria: if you're in the market for fancy display stands for things that have curved bottoms or small bases, Google Image Search "punch bowl stand". I'd been seeing these weird low glass bowl things at thrift stores for years; they are heavy, stable and PERFECT for elevating things in an elevated way. Old glass cake stands work too, modern ones haven't had the survivor's bias kick in to eliminate the ones that are delicate and/or tippy. Beware "glue a plate to a candlestick" situations left by upcyclers. I will never trust e6000 that much.

T
The Closet Historian Β· November 26, 2021

I do love some Michaels terrarium, especially the apothecary-ish jars 😍 Plus coupons are nice! Punch bowl stands I will have to look into! Thank you for the tip as I am indeed often looking for good pedestal things!

Arcane is just amazing. I watched it after I saw your recommendation on Instagram. Please get wel quickly. Some people needs medicine to get rid of their cough. Like my youngest daughter. The rest of the family just get wel without problems..

T

Thank you Anna-Lise ❀ I can't wait to watch Arcane again 😍 I'm glad you liked it!

G'day Bianca, oh yes, if I lived near you, I'd have my hand up to be an Intern to give you hand. That would be awesome! I like your idea of instructional videos banked up, which can be released when it suits you. You definitely need time for writing, that is so important! Things like full bust adjustments, princess seams, as you mentioned....you know. You get referenced a lot from other Youtubers about how to do things, eg., full bust adjustment, your peasant blouse.... I agree with your Mum, you should see a Doctor or maybe a Naturopath. Your body is still fighting this and might just need a hand to get rid of it. Look after yourself, you are much cared for. Sending best wishes and healing vibes from Down Under πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’πŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ˜Ž

Second going to the doctor with lingering upper respiratory issues. You could have a secondary infection from the cold that will clear up with simple antibiotics or a couple steroid puffs, or linger for months without. Clearing crap from your lungs is the worst.
