A Finished Forest // Sneak Peek!
Well I managed to get it done in time, I hardly know how! My legs hurt, my body is just a little bit broken, I stenciled a few hundred stars (I didn't count!), and the room is almost finished!
I still have to make some window treatments, and a new curtain for the doorway into the (unfortunately ugly) laundry area. One day I hope to get a stackable washer dryer situation and stick them in the adjacent large pantry. Then I could put a real butler's pantry behind this doorway with a little bar sink, all of my glasses, a mini fridge for gin...Okay that may just be a bar, not a butler's pantry, but I fix my own drinks anyhow, no butler in sight!
Today I managed to hang a curtain rod (and the kimono from it) above the couch, make a quick couch cover from the same purple velvet as the shield chairs so I don't have to worry about my cats scratching the actual couch, paint the bathroom door in the mini hall outside the /other/ doorway into this room, and gold leaf a few things. I hung some hooks, fixed some shoddily sewn pillow covers, stenciled some moths onto the ceiling in said tiny adjacent hall...lots of little tasks! Now I just have to clean clean clean my whole house before my family arrive on Thursday.

There is this cool mystical time travel thing happening from room to room and era to era - and I find myself wondering…. & that sweet bit of hall with the moths on the ceiling… so perfect. Happy birthday! I recently moved into a turn of the century home and your posts have given me so much inspiration for how to de-landlord white my house. (Seriously. We have so many windows, cabinets, and doors that no longer open or close because of how much white latex paint they slathered on).
