Since it's finally warm weather, have you looked at any flea or antique markets local to you? I imagine there would be a ton in that region. Even if you can't afford to buy something, it would be a fun thing to do with your mom, especially if you can't find a garden to visit.

On the subject of dark purple, what about doing the guest room in purple? I don't remember you ever saying what was planned for that room's styling. I have a dark saturated lightly warm purple in the office/guest room.

I'm so glad things are starting to warm up up there and that things are continuing to come together.

Who else thinks a Go Fund Me for Bianca would be fab????? I hate it when she talks about her finances. It makes me sad cuz I WANT TO SEE THE RESULTS NOW!!!!!!!!

The house is turning out beautifully so every second put in it was well worth it! Even with the money concernes. I must admit it's refreshing to hear someone just straight up say "I want that but can't afford it right now" as most social media is always I want it and I'll buy it no matter if it puts me in debt. I am on a strict budget (nothing fancy like me fixing up a house or anything big, just life being expensive) Also would love to see a dress form closer to your size to show the pattern drafting on, I am pretty far in the patern drafting (you taught me well) but I think most people are closer to a 14 than a 8. So again, pure selfish reasons but it's nicer to see something not sample size constantly (the 90's and zeros really did a number on me) Have fun with your mom! I hope you find something to do! (Also, our cats have a room where they're locked up at night, for those exact same concerns as you have, and sometimes people say that's sad that they've got a pretty big room at night instead of the whole house, but them getting themselves in trouble cause they're curious is way sadder I think)

I have a True Form dress form I got on clearance. I rarely use it because it doesn't adjust enough to mimic me. I'm still working on that. I have seen fitting videos that use a dress form to demonstrate the effectiveness of different types of adjustments. Those are very helpful.

If your old windows have weights, they are double hung. That will come in really handy when the hot weather hits given you may not have air conditioning yet. If you open up the top section of the windows at night the heat will escape. You can close them during the day. If you get yourself some blackout curtains, all the better. Definitely worth the time investment to make sure your windows open in both directions. Cost free cooling. 😉

From a fellow Capital District dweller… here are a handful of fun things to do in the area. The Saratoga Springs State Park natural spring tour. Or the State Museum in Albany. It’s free and is very well done (or it was when I last went a couple of years ago). If you’re into naval history (niche I know), there is the USS Slater Museum. You can tour the State Capital. I’ve never done it, but I have heard folks really like the architecture. Best of luck finding some fun things to do. I was happy having a creator I really respect move to the area. Waiting for Andor as well but in my case it's because hockey playoffs are on and they've taken over our house most nights. I really love what they've done with the clothes in that show, last season I kept seeing stuff I wanted to try to make for myself

Re: if I only had a dresser - I feel you! I was without one for about 3 years and did the whole living out of bins thing, which got so old. One of the things I was most excited about when I bought my house was the presence of nice dressers the owners were selling. If I lived anywhere near you I'd give you one, because they wound up leaving 3 more than we asked for 🤣. I'm excited to see the new videos you have planned for the channel - thanks for the update.

My guess for the room was a linen room - my house here in Shaker had one on the second floor by the stairs as well
