Peek in the Shoe Closet
Hello there! I have been painting, painting, and painting some more in the smaller closet (formerly that floral papered linen closet) upstairs. As you may know, I am sorta interested in fashion and have a bit of a vintage collection to contain. I still say brooches and sale shoes were better investments in my 20s than buying drinks and concert tickets would have been. And they have lasted longer for sure!
This 6ft by 6ft room is across the hall from the pink and red dressing room. I re-used the original shelves, all 6 of them lined up on the left hand side, to create shoe storage. The other side has a clothing rack for additional hanging storage, and I am organizing my costume jewelry in here as well. The re-shuffle has allowed me to unpack the rest of my clothes into the pink room, as well as to use the dresser in there for gloves, scarves, and hosiery etc. I still have some more touch up painting and unpacking to do, but I'll have a full update on the decoration and progress in a video coming to the channel this week.
And yes it's blue, very blue. Yves Saint Laurent in Morocco blue, and I LOVE IT 🤩

I loooove that shade of blue 😍
I've just gotten to watching the video, and it looks great! I went dark dark blue in my craft room/office and saturated blues are underrated for allover color. I have started cruising etsy for refurbished vintage wool rugs. They basically shave down, clean and sometimes overdye old rugs. A word of warning on the wool rug adventure: get some clothes moth traps so you can tell if you've got an infestation early on, especially as the weather gets warmer and wetter out in the spring. The sticky pheromone traps attract male moths so they can't get rid of the caterpillars or females, but they can tell you when and where the problem is so you can decide to up your cleaning and/or treat and better protect valuable animal protein items. I have heard that clothes moth larvae love pet hair, so you have an extra incentive to keep up with vacuuming in the corners in your storage rooms!
LAPIS LAZULI 💙💙💙💙💙💙
Hi, You know that pictures are good when you try to see what's around a corner or try to tilt the screenso you can see the somerthing that's just out of sight down below. These are all that. I'm really looking forward to the video. Yours, Ann
That closet is to die for. If only i had that much space in my scrawny excuse for a closet. The blue is such a beautiful shade. I love it.
It's so pretty! It's like a beautiful store where nothings for sale.
Love the blue!!! So vibrant!!!💕
LOVE the blue!
I'm so in love with this (and everything else you've been doing to your lovely new home)! I'm also incredibly jealous, lol. My poor closet is the saddest thing in existence and holds maybe ⅓ of my clothing 😕 Your delightful new setup gives me lots of inspiration for the closet of my dreams that will (hopefully) come to fruition someday 🖤
Magnificent, stunning, glorious 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Moving very soon, and I'm sooo looking forward to adding color into my personal spaces! Deep eggplant or dark green in my bedroom, some sort of teal in my bathroom, rich blue in my sewing room...you have inspired me!
I get the color! We lived in rent or military houses for over 20 years. So when we finally bought a place, we went bold on color and have not regretted it since (another almost 20 years) I say bring on the color and personalized decorations :) live in the house you fancy; you can always paint if need be. My sister had beautiful decorative paint in her house (professional faux finishes and murals) and her real estate agent advised her to obliterate. She chose not to and the paint job sold the house for her. We are planning to leave this dwelling permanently in a funeral home van, so yeah
All I can say is it's beautiful xx
What dreams are made of
You know you’re living in a fancy house, when the rooms are named by colour - The Blue Room, The Pink Room etc. 😂❤️
I've been to Le Jardin Majorelle and it is THAT blue! Well done - small spaces are a bugger to paint - not enough room for elbows.
OH MY. (Wish I had a shoe room like that!)
Loving the colour!
Love it
is it YSL blue or is it Yves Klein‘s blue? anyways, I am loooooving it 💙
Oo! That colour is stunning with all the pretty things you're storing in there!
Gorgeous! I'll be living vicariously through your shoe display; mine are mostly all in boxes, stacked in the very top of my closet, where I have to go on an adventure to get a pair down.
Love that blue!!!
That blue is the perfect background color for your gorgeous shoe collection. I live it!
I have never seen shoes arranged staggered. Great use of space! Everything is beautiful. If I am able to buy my house this year, I really need you to come help me pull it together. (Okay, I know that won't happen, but that would be so cool! 😅)
The crystal doorknobs look great with the saturated blue!
Wow, you're really batting a thousand in this house!💙
Being able to organize a storage room from scratch much be so satisfying. I would love to get to get my hands on that kind of project. Though I'm not moving anytime soon so that would be kind of difficult 😅
What an excellent blue 🤌 you're so skilled at picking paint colors 💙
It's looking so stunning!!! Thank you for showing us all the fun house stuff
