Antique Inspired Serger Machine Cover Box
I'm currently in the middle of making a dress for this next week's video, and oh boy has Oliver been 'helpful', if my climbing on my back with his sharp claws while I sew at the machine counts as helpful.
I had promised to show you all the serger/overlocker cover box I had put together to cover the white plastic monstrosity. This box is made from art boards like these from Michaels https://www.michaels.com/product/cradled-wood-painting-panel-pack-by-artists-loft-necessities-10474772 though I used 2 12"x16" and three 12"x12". Brass corners and feets helped, and were found on etsy ages ago. The box was stained with some gel stain (the same as my mantle) after I screwed it together. I found the old thread and singer advertisements on pinterest and printed them out on brown craft paper style sticker paper . I also designed a quick TCH sticker in a similar style too.
Though I initially had grander plans for this project, I am pleased with the results in the end, and am certainly happy that I no longer have to look at the ugly serger unless I'm using it!
I hope you have a great weekend ❤️

What a cool 💡idea
Your box looks great! I love how it matches the style of your room. You're right, it is nice to cover up the modern machine. I'd like it because of the added advantage of covering the spools. My cats are constantly messing with those, which throws the tension off. Cats are such helpful little things 😆
Looks great! Thanks for sharing the instructions too.
It does indeed look authentic! Nice job.
Thank you so much for sharing all the images, and that box looks amazing!
Excellent Bianca, you've done a good job there, it definitely looks old, how about one of those fancy, vintage, metal handles on top like the old sewing machine cases have? Your advert is brilliant. You wouldn't know until you see the year, and "online", that it wasn't vintage. You should use it more often now you have it, it suits you and your business down to the ground ❤️
Great box, and I love your TCH sticker! I also live the whole vibe. I have an antique spool cabinet with that owl logo on the back; so cool to see that on your box!
I love the TCH sticker, I know things are still a bit hectic at TCH HQ, but do you have any plans for April '26 and your 10 year anniversary of your first YouTube video?
Have you thought about selling a Bee sticker?
That was my thought too. I'd absolutely support TCH merch!
Very good way to cover a serger monstrosity. They truly are ugly.
I love your sewing and pattern making content but boy are you crafty I'm telling you your stuff is amazing.
It is so awesome how your creative mind is working. To think of this and execute it really takes so much skill. Brava.
I never knew what DMC stood for till now!
Gorgeous! The detail work is fantastic.
Very clever, I love it!
The box looks great, and the custom sticker is a really fun touch.
The box is very cool. I love your sticker. Do you have any accessories in the accessory box? I got some for my featherweight and they can do some fabulous things.
My 99K has a bunch of accessories too. It's amazing what these old machines can do without all of the modern computerization.
It looks so much nicer than a white plastic serger! And alas, if only there was a cat babysitter to look after them during the day!
That looks wonderful. Almost like a closed up Victrola or early radio.
I love your sticker. The cover is inspirational. You never cease to amaze me.
Love the cth sticker 😍😍😍. The cover looks great❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love it!!
I love this !!! Perfection! Thanks for the ideas and stamps! Just great!
🤩💜🤩
You have inspired me to re do my sewing room! Thank you! I really needed to get some more life into my room where I do my creative work. Your inspiration has been the push that I needed.
That is definitely an upgrade! I love the stickers, I have no idea how you envisioned the cover, you said more steampunk and with lights, but I love this vibe as well, more edwardian suitcase after some travels.
Cool. Great idea with the stickers!
Love the box, it look great. Maybe you need an Oliver vest, padded so he can't get his claws all the way through.
Could I convince you to put your The Closet Historian sticker up on Redbubble?? I would love one for my sewing machine case! (I suggest redbubble mostly because they handle printing and shipping, so you just upload the design and don't have to do anything else).
I would love a TCH sticker
That really is cute.
Wow! Looks great!!
That looks just fantastic!
