Family Road Trip // Mini update from Ohio
Hello all! My mom, me, and all three cats are on our way to New York. Yes it's going well, and yes, it's also extremely stressful 😩 I had a headache for most of the day and my lovely mom had to do all of today's driving. Hopefully I'll get a little more sleep and be of more use for the last leg of the drive tomorrow!
Seeing the cats scared is /not/ fun for me, and my poor little tortie girl Sophie is pretty unhappy about the whole situation. I'll be very relieved when they get into their (unfinished, ahem) new room at the house and can start to get settled.
Thank you again for your patience with me! As soon as I get back to my PC I can start getting more and better updates together for you. I'll walk you through putting the sewing room together as that happens as well ✨

I heard to ease a cat to a new home it helps to only let them explore the rooms step by step, so it doesn't overwhelm them. E.g. let them only be in one room for a week and expand their territory to two rooms in the next. Hope you all arrive safely in NY! 🤗😁

As others have said, the kitties will be fine. They have each other and they have you. They will be picking up on your mood and anxiety too. Take it easy on yourself and remember you don’t need to do everything immediately. Take a little time to breathe and try and enjoy the experience.
Oh no, poor buddies, but on the positive side, they have to do this now and when they arrive in their new home that's it, no more extremely long car trips

Yes, moving is no fun for anyone but you've got a great set-up waiting for them at your new home so there's no reason everyone won't settle in well, given a little time <3

Travelling long distance is definitely no fun. Our cat Henry meowed the entire time. Many hours of meowing. He's been through 4 house moves now so he's more chill about it now. I hope your cats settle in well 💜
