Gorgeous.
Wow, an amazing piece
I've been so busy with work I've just started catching up with all I've missed recently. This is gorgeous!🤩 Definitely on my list of Bianca-inspired projects!
Thank you Marcia!!
I have said it before but I have to say it again; your work is so inspiring! I am currently in a few extremely hectic and stressfull months at work (we need to finish some prototypes, one which will be auctioned off and kind of carries the faith of the company so no pressure...) and because of that and sadly having lost my grandma this past month I just have been in a bit of a slump with creating and just seeing this video, no matter how simple, makes my fingers itch and makes me want to pick up something to do! so never apologise if it's just "simple" because this coat again shows that while abundance is amazing, simplicity can be just as gorgeous. I love it. Also, off topic, but I can't stop thinking about those 5 chapters from an orphans revenge, I have read and re read them a few times now and I really want this book and series to see the light of day because it haunts me in the best way! You're so talented in many ways.
Firstly I am so sorry for your loss. I have been overworking myself so have been unable to write much lately, and I keep thinking about this comment and your kind words when I need a boost to keep going and get through these last few projects so I can get back to the (digital) page ❤ Thank you so much!
Wonderful! A belt through the slits across your back, leaving the swing to do it's magic would be fabulous. xxxxxxxx
Thank you Alexandra! This was indeed the main reason I left the slits! I wanted to be able to belt it even with the giant sleeves
Hi, How did you know that I have been eyeing Haori sewing since whenever it was that you casually mentioned it some time back. And yes, I've noticed how newbie friendly this is to make, too. Hanging it so that the nape of your neck would have been showing if there wasn't a dress there, would have been really provocative too. Anyway. Thank you for this lovely sewing film. Yours, Ann
Thank you Ann! Yes when worn with actual kimono the collar is held back by the dip of the kimono's stiffened collar and looks super elegant 😍
Absolutely stunning. I am so amazed how you transform a garment into art. Brava!
Thank you Thomas!
‘Adding a bit of flare’, you just can’t resist can you? 😉
Naturally not ✨😅
Your eye makeup I. This one is fantastic too!
Thank you Jen!
That is AWESOME! You never cease to amaze me!
Thank you Marcie!
This is gorgeous! Would something like this work with 1920s beachwear if done in a lightweight cotton?
Thank you LaToya!! I would say totally! It may "stick" to itself a bit more if the weave isn't smooth, as cotton fibers are spiral and create more friction, so a rayon blend might drape a little more, but in general a haori can be made in any fabric I'd wager!
How lovely!
Thank you Jen!
Gorgeous 🖤
Thank you!
I’m so excited to see this!
Oh my goodness gracious me the fabric is absolutely stunning…exquisite…the drape…wow…it truly shines (sorry about the pun) in this elegant design…just wonderful…thank you.
Thank you Raelene! The texture picks up colored light in such a fun way, but with me shiny is no surprise 😂
WOW! This is SO pretty!! I have really been wanting to make a haori or hanten jacket lately-what feels more glamorous than swanning around draped in beautiful cozy textiles? Like a glamour-snuggie 😂
Glamour-snuggie is the best phrase I have heard all week <3
Yas! So gorgeous. I have been obsessed with haori for ages now. I’ve sewn about 30 at this point 😅. Billy Matsunaga is definitely a must watch. Been devouring her content for years.
Thank you Taylor! I have 5 vintage haori, but I fear the only way I'll ever have them in my actual size is to make them or go get one made in Japan. I'd love to go of course, so no trouble there!
Shimmering Beatifulness!
Thank you Stephanie!
