Sneak peek at a fun hat!
Firstly, thank you for all of your kind comments on my last post ❤ I'm still catching up on things in the studio, but at least I vacuumed in there today, which makes everything feel infinitely less overwhelming somehow.
Secondly, THE GLOSS HTV WORKS ON HATS!! ahem, but I mean, COME ON. I was hoping this would work so I could have a glossy black on black marbled hat to wear with the samurai coat I made for the next lookbook. I was going to try to use the vinyl on organza and then stitch the organza onto the sinamay hat base (from this shop on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/shop/APinkSwan? ) but a test revealed the glossy htv stuck fine to the sinamay directly! The rim of this hat base is wired, so I bent it super gently to swoop just a bit. This hat with any black patent accessories to match from now on?! I'm so happy with how it turned out and it was super easy.
I'll be trying to add in a little more rest this weekend I promise, since I've been sequinning too close to the sun, no surprise. Thank you so much for your support!

Just want to say thank you for the work that you do. I have been laid up the past week or so recovering from knee surgery and am slowly re-watching your back catalogue of videos, thinking about projects I want to try once I'm a bit more mobile again. I find the work you do very inspiring - your videos make making clothes seem a lot less daunting (though I still haven't managed to fit a bodice block despite many attempts over the past three or four years). And your voice is very mellow and easy to listen to.

Bring back hats, if only because it's an umbrella and parasol you can wear. But, I did get so fed up of having to carry an umbrella that I commissioned a baldric and hanger to carry mine.
