As animators it can be hard to find the time to disconnect from our work and reconnect with our emotions. Sometimes you just gotta mellow out you know? ...and what could be more mellow than another ANIMATION CHALLENGE? This time we'll be spinning the Mood Ring! Much like fetish roulette from last ti

LET'S GO GAMBLING! Another challenge is coming up, but this time we'll be playing fetish roulette. Before the challenge I will spin a wheel full of fetishes for each individual participant. I'll spin the wheel four times per person, after which they will have to choose three of the four fetishes to

New year, new challenge. We'll be doing another themed one: this time around Valentine's Day. Surprisingly we haven't done one of these yet even though it is the obvious choice. It'll be a few days late of the actual day itself but I can't let that stop us. I'm sure this is obvious, but the animatio

It looks like things are heating up this August with another animation challenge! Like our Halloween challenge from last year, this one will be themed. What's the theme you ask? Well pretty much anything summer-related of course! The animations will be based around the general themes or imagery of s

Alright, time to shake the rust off with the first challenge of the new year. This one would mark over a year of these challenges, which is cool because that's way farther than I thought they'd go. Now, if you're not familiar with the animation challenge, here are the rules: For 3 days, all particip

Hey, just doing some clerical work here. You probably heard that last November Patreon raised their prices for iOS app users by a little bit. This was Patreon essentially passing down Apple's 30% App Store fee to the end users. However an additional effect is that it's causing Patreon to switch ever

It's been a little while so the time felt right for another animation challenge! This time with a bit of a spooky theme. Participants will be encouraged to incorporate horror, thriller, or Halloween themes/designs into their animations. This can be as scary or lighthearted as the artist wants - it's

The time has come again for another animation challenge so we'll be doing one at the beginning of next month. This one's going to be a little lighter than the last few, so its totally free-form with no modifier. That being said some people might go all-out and others might keep it casual. Personally

Ok, thankfully we have much more extended notice this time. We have some new people interested in participating so we're going to get back at it for a few days this month. This one's going to be similar to last one - with an optional story modifier. Behind the scenes we've been coming up with other

TWEET Animation List: DOCS MEGA Compilation: MP4 MEGA I put together another little compilation again! Just like last time it's so I have something to point to that summarizes the whole event. And it's kinda fun. I was also able to collaborate with a graphic designer to make the banner and some othe

I think I'm gonna drop the 'mini' part and just call these daily animation challenges. Less of a mouth-full. Sorry for the late notice, but a lot of entries have been down to the wire behind the scenes. A lot of artists expressed interest in doing the animation challenge, and many of those who alrea

TWEET Animation List: DOCS MEGA Compilation: MP4 MEGA I threw together a little compilation for last week's mini animation challenge. This is more or less just to have something to point to that summarizes all of the challenge's entries. Plus it captures the sort of... frenetic nature of the thing.

Some other artists expressed interest in doing a daily animation challenge like the one I do every year, so I thought it would be cool to get more people involved and make it an event. For those who don't know, the daily animation challenge is something I started doing to challenge myself to create

Ok so this is really short notice but I've decided to do the animation challenge this week, starting tomorrow (Monday). For those who are new, this has turned into a sort of annual thing; last year I did the challenge in March. Just as a recap, here's a short description: I'll be giving myself just

The old Blender Animations archive pretty much got nuked so I've uploaded a new archive and changed the links in my pinned post, Patreon description, and Twitter description. You can also find it here: bit.ly/3DgRlBn Once again, message me if you see anything missing because if you make a comment th

The stars have aligned and my schedule has cleared up once again for another animation challenge. Last time I did the challenge was back in April, so here's a recap for those who don't know what it is: I'll be giving myself just one day to create and publicly release a small animation, for 5 consecu

The time has come again for another animation challenge. I have a lot of new assets to work with, so this will give me a chance to experiment a bit before I get deep into my larger animation project. For those of you who weren't around the last time I did it in June: basically I'll be giving myself

Well here it is, now that we're close to production I thought I would be a good idea to publish some sort of design document on my upcoming project. It should help me get my thoughts in order, inform everyone on what my plan is, and properly set everyone's expectations. Below I'll go into detail abo

If you are a new Patron, or thinking of becoming one, please be sure to read this post. It contains a lot of the same information in my Patreon description as well as some other helpful resources. I'll update it as I go along. Archives Blender Animations SFM Animations Blender Model Ports - March 20

Since I'm in the middle of rendering and working on other projects, I thought I'd do this whole animation thing that I outlined in my update post this month. The idea is that I'll give myself just one day to create and publicly release a small animation, and do that for 5 days. The animations will b
