Fancy Movie Time #41: The Old Dark House (1932) [feat. Aysha U. Farah]
On this episode of Fancy Movie Time with Brian and A.J., the Fancy Lads are joined by Aysha U. Farah (Worker's Lit, All My Maidens) to take a tour of James Whale's deeply queer horror comedy: The Old Dark House. Do the movie's campy performances and immaculate pacing make it a Fancy Feast? Or does its lack of true horror make it a Failure to Fancy? One thing's for sure: if you ride in an IKEA boat, you're gonna get wet.

For a second I was confused when Brian started talking shit about Skyrim’s terrible menus. Then I remember that because of mods it’s been many years since I’ve even seen the vanilla Skyrim menus.
Devastated that as it was a Fancy Movie Time there was no interstitial, which would surely have an excerpt from the Tony Award winning musical about Monkey Dracula.
Don't even remember the name but "Aysha's Wario" and I immediately know who it is
Watch Repo! The genetic opera. It's terrible and you will enjoy it.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NIGHT OF THE HUNTER IN A MAINSTREAM EPISODE!!
Montreal metro erasure smh
Okay I’m going to wait to see if it gets brought up but the AMOUNT of gay gossip you can use this movie as a launching pad for is astounding EDIT: for everyone going off to watch GODS AND MONSTERS, there’s a really obnoxious and ambitious journalist character who is widely believed to be a Roman a clef on the director’s most recent ex-boyfriend at the time ……Ryan Murphy.
Oh shit. I LOVE this movie. We did it for one of our first Pride-themed episodes.
I'm so glad we finally got an ep about Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist!
For the three of us who have seen the film!
