Hello everyone! Sonia here, live from our studio (or my bedroom, because remote work, you know) for another weekly Patreon post!
In today's news: we’re excited to show our progress with some new hairstyles and clothes that you will all hopefully enjoy! I will be borrowing some of the great Parafolks created by the other devs for the Paramaker playtest to show you the new items.
Here are some of the new styles you can create with the new clothing items. Keep scrolling if you want to see more close-ups!

New Hairstyles
In previous posts, we showcased a lot of longer hairstyles because they posed more of a challenge and allowed us to test the limits of our system. Now that we are more confident, we are creating many short options as well.
Special thanks to Lea for this awesome new hairstyle with short braids, and this very handsome Parafolk.
Here he is wearing another new hairstyle with short locks, created by yours truly.
New Head Accessories
A Hijab to cover your hair whenever you want.
A beanie with a cute little pom-pom on top.
New Tops
Introducing an oversized shirt because, let's be honest, that's all I wear, and it was truly needed in the Paramaker.
A tight turtleneck top for a more fancy look.
A polo with long and short sleeves variations.
A crop top for a trendier outfit.
New Bottom
A pencil skirt, available in short and medium lengths.
New Overall
A comfy dressing gown because you don't have to be all fancy all the time.

As someone religious, specifically Catholic, are we able to make our Paras religious?
Probably not, but if they were to add religion it would likely be fictional religions with some ties to real ones

Would it be possible to add a kippah/yarmulke to the head accessories? I wear one every day but I've never seem a simulation game that includes one. Would be nice to finally see myself represented in a game. :)
I need more gothic style clothing
i'll be honest, at first i was a little skeptical about how the style of the Paras look but honestly, they dont seem cartoonish as i was fearing...they truly look genunie and more realistic than sims to me (without CC/mods!) Incredible work!!

The ethnic (I hope that’s the right word) hairstyles look so good and modern! One thing that’s often missing from games is like… a bed hair xD Just a few messy hairstyles for those days where we stay in and don’t do our hair, or for those who simply rock that messy look! Just an idea I randomly had
I like that! It could be a style or, if the team wanted to make their lives harder, also happen as a part of a "wrong side of the bed" status haha.

Great outfits, lovely execution on the hairstyles! When I looked at the pencil skirt, it made me wonder how well it will scale up to fit plus size Paras. It would be nice if this is kept in mind. 💚
Thank you! We are often testing on Parafolks of different body shapes and sizes and the skirt scales well so far!

Looking forward to the game. I don't know where to ask this question so I'll ask here. There has been some controvosy over Unity recently, over their new payment policy. Can I ask whether you are sticking with the Unity game engine or not to make this game? Thank you
We are not happy with Unity's new policy but we won't be changing Paralives' game engine because this would delay the release of the game by 1-2 years. Their new policy is not great but it won't harm Paralives and our plans for the project

looking awesome so far! one thing i hope we get to see is more high-waisted stuff, like around belly button level or higher. that's about where all my favorite pants & skirts sit! it would look great with tucked/cropped tops. also, this might be complicated but if it can be done in a simplified way, i'd love to see an option for a shirt tied around the waist; that's another staple of my everyday outfits. maybe if it was modeled as part of an existing bottom so it can stay sort of "glued" to the mesh and doesn't have to be weighted & animated separately? (obviously having it as a separate thing that can be added to any bottoms would be ideal, but i suspect that would be too fiddly. couldn't say that for sure though!)
Second this! I've been wearing nothing but high waisted jeans and some bell bottoms could be a nice addition. 70s core
I love the styles. The clothes look comfy. I truly love the warmth in your game. It’ll be a welcome addition to my computer.
I'm glad accessories like the hijab are, well... accessories ! In That Other Game 4™, they are an entire hairstyle of their own, which is annoying on top of being inaccurate (and borderline objectifying, although probably not intended that way). Also that Para has cheekbones for days ! As for the shirt with long and short sleeves variations... am I reading the pictures right that the mere texture of the shirt can be changed ? I thought it was only patterns (like the skirt with flowers below), but you can actually change the type of fabric itself that way ?
The hijab itself is not a hairstyle in Sims 4, it is a hat actually. But I do agree, some hairstyles are with accessories only, which only have one style per hair color.
The new clothes are so pretty! I especially love the bathrobe. I noticed that the male parafolk has his nails painted! It looks so good! Somebody else has already brought it up, but I do agree that the lines on the body could be a bit lighter/softer because they stand out a bit too harshly on the parafolks' skin.
Sigh… the comb over dreads…

Oh, a tight turtleneck with That necklace So you're telling me, we could recreate The Rock in that iconic picture? I am loving the new hair, I will agree with a previous commentor in that the hairline in the front for the short braids look a bit off. A bit too forward? And while we're talking about textures. Though I never minded the blush, it could be a bit softer , as is most of the white paras look drunk. I never really noticed that until I saw mustache man next to a black character. The same theory could be used for the lines used for the body. Like the shoulder blades and clavicles could be a bit lighter too. Otherwise they all look kind of boney, which is a dangerous image to promote. Now with that aside. Yay hijabs! I remember you guys saying you won't do it on Twitter, glad you changed your mind. While I'm not a hijabi myself, a few of my friends are, and they would love the representation.
I would love to see The Rock in Paralives, hehehe! Thanks for the feedback regarding the textures, I will share them with the team :) Yes, hijabs are important for making sure most people can recreate themselves in Paralives!
Loving the sheer variety. That variety together with the colour wheel and mods will make choices almost limitless. Awesome!

Yaayy Mustache Man gets a robe XD now he can be cozy! Everyone and everything is looking great! I love all the possibilities for customization! I especially love the polo, and the long sleeves under the t-shirt! I apologize if this has been addressed before, but will some looser fitting tops, like this baggy t-shirt, be able to be tucked in? I see the tight polo and turtleneck have that option, which is great. And I know not all items can have all variations. Just wondering if there might be any possibility of having a baggy tucked shirt/blouse. If not, might I suggest a cropped version of the baggy t-shirt? Anyway, thank you again for sharing your amazing work with us! <3
Thanks for the kind words! Right now, the tucking feature is for clothes that are tight but we might add loose fitting clothing items later that are specially made to be tucked. The challenge is that we have to tuck the loose fitting clothes at a different height on the waist depending on if the pants is high-waist or not. That's why the tucking is only for skin-tight tops right now, because we can just make the texture of the pants appear on top of the texture of the top

Yesssssss OVERSIZED SHIRT ALARM!!! This is getting better and better! I hope you'll consider also adding an oversized jacked, hoodie or flannel! (those are my fave, i wear them all the time djhkdfgh). Also those hairstyles are SO COOL! I love that there's alot more than just straight hair. Do you guys plan on adding some hairstyle for various levels of curly hair? I imagine that those or problably the worst to model, but it would be really cool :> Amazing post as always!
More oversized items are coming! Looking forward to revealing them! As for curly hair, we have various hairstyles planned for the initial release that will represent various levels of curly hair and more hairstyle will come after launch too
Looking really good, gotta say though the hairline on the hairstyle with the braids is HUGE

Yes, most of these can be layered! In general, the oversized or thick tops can be layered with more skin-tight tops under them and vice versa
