New Features In The Paramaker Since The Showcase Video

Today I am going to show you some new features that were added to the Paramaker in the last three months since we released the Paramaker video. Even though our development focus at this time is on the live mode, we wanted to show you today a few of the important or essential improvements we made to the Paramaker before switching our focus. These new functionalities and improvements were made based on the internal testing we did within the team after the Paramaker showcase video and they only represent a small portion of all the tweaks, fixes and additions we will make to the game in the future, before or after its release.
Improved Thumbnails
One thing that we wanted to correct was the inability to quickly see in the Paramaker the color or pattern of a piece of clothing your character had on them. Indeed, in our first version if you had a shirt that is by default black and you had selected the ‘red’ version, the thumbnail would still be black and only by hovering the item with your mouse would you see the selected red color swatch.
It is now much easier to see the actual piece of clothing our Para has on them and it feels much better to see the thumbnail change as you hover different swatches as well!
Easily Remove Clothes and Accessories
We wanted to have a way to remove clothing on our character without having to find the specific sub-category for everything. We also wanted to allow the player to remove, for instance, all their jewelry with one single click, without having to go in all the sections of the catalog to look for their items. Our solution was to add a little X button that appears when you hover category labels, clicking it will remove all items from that category, no matter what sub-category they are a part of!
Clicking the red X button will remove all equipped Tops on our Para, no matter if they are fancy, casual, or a coat
List Improvements
The list of items was improved as well. In our previous iteration, selecting a top level category (such as Tops or Bottoms) would merely show an empty list and the player would have to click on a sub-category in order to see its contents. Now instead we show all the items contained in that top level category, ordered and positioned in such a way that any items on your Para will be visible in the list of items.
If you just want to equip a shirt and feel like browsing them all in one go, you’ll be able to with our improved lists!
Tattoos Improvement
Having to remove your Para’s clothes when you want to put tattoos on them would be quite bothersome, so we have improved the Paramaker to allow certain categories to temporarily put your character in their underwear, letting you place tattoos without having to fuss with going back and forth in different menus. When you leave that category, the clothes are put back on.
Placing tattoos through Sebastian’s coat isn’t that easy, with this improvement it can be done without requiring any extra actions from the players!
There are a ton of smaller bug fixes and improvements that were done as well, but these are a few that I wanted to talk about. Hope you have found this informative and interesting! Have a great weekend!

Love to see these refinements! Always with the quality work :D Any there any current plans to have (or not have) an individual wardrobe per Para in live mode? if that makes sense.. Like going clothes shopping at an in-game store to get access to different articles of clothing for your controlled para to wear? (beyond what was selected in the paramaker or what pre-made paras already have in their wardrobes/houses). or to have a more universal access to all/most clothes for all? which i assume would be way simpler to code xD; i see benefits to both.. and downsides. personal possessions could get complicated with make-up and accessories as well. plus with in-game stores, it could be fun to tie-in the modding support that way too, haha. sorry just rambling now haha, well, if the question is addressed elsewhere also i can look into it. thanks for reading all of this if you did xD;;

I would appreciate a way to either upload our own tattoos to the game or have some kind of in game creator to fashion them. It takes something away from creation when you might have 4 characters with all the same tattoos because that's the only option.
It would be nice to be able to create tattoos and designs without needing to open a game file - those player-created designs could simply to accessible to all game files. I am thinking a button on the start menu for either an item designer or the steam workshop - easy access for new creations, right in the start menu! (Talk about supporting your vision of a moddable game!)
I’d love a way to randomize the different clothing options if I just wanna switch things up quickly! I used this feature in The Sims all the time. It encourages you to see items you otherwise perhaps wouldn’t have tried out.
Will body hair category also change Paras to be in their underwear so we can actually see the hair on the body?
Yes! The body hair category now has that feature, just like for tattoos
I would like to see a "lock" button, it could be useful for keeping make up or other things (like rings, glasses) for every category unless we decide otherwise. I also wonder if the tool for birth marks will be expanded to some other additions, like vitiligo?
That could be useful! If we add vitiligo later, using the same tool as for birth marks and tattoos could work well, that's true!
I would love if you could 'save' prefered make up for a para, so that you can copy it over to different outfits
Gets better every time! Maybe things like glasses and piercings can be c/p against all the categories automatically? (but glasses off for sleep/swim)

These are some awesome quality of life changes! I agree with a previous comment about copying items from outfit to outfit. It'd be super valuable for things like glasses and body piercings. ☺️ Great work, everyone!

Is there a button to remove all items if you want everything gone?
Not at the moment, but we might add it in the future if we feel like it's useful! Thank you for the question!

That's not something we have at the moment, but it's not impossible that we will have it in the future if we feel it's required! Getting rid of all clothes would only imply going on all the categories (top, bottoms, shoes, etc.) and clicking the little X!

On the note of convenience improvements: maybe there could be a way to copy and paste choices over different categories? Just so you don't have to individually configure someone's make-up or jewelry for every new outfit category. Just a thought :)
Thank you, that's an interesting idea! We still have more to think about regarding outfits and how they would work, but that's a part to keep in mind as well for sure!
