Demo is finally available on Steam!

Hello. I'm sorry for not posting anything since the holidays, I've both been busy and more anxious in general ever since the year started. Though, the anxiety doesn't have one single cause, it seems to be more generalized, because there are important things I need to do this year.

The demo is available here if you want to check it out.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3202610/Malevolent_Planet_2D/

It also took longer than I expected to prepare this demo, because in order to get "approved" on Steam you need the build you're submitting to pass a certain criteria, but it's not worth getting into that right now. (I had to make multiple changes based on their feedback and it took me time)

Anyway, since our game is now registered for the incoming Next Fest, it'll be important to see if people like it and I can see that if the wishlist number grows.

Besides letting the game market itself, I've found out some NSFW games have been getting approved for Early Access again. If this also applies to us, it would mean a speedier resume of the content flow, because this Patreon is basically like Early Access and if I can do it both ways (both on Steam and Patreon) then it's a lot easier.

Always remember, if you supported me here and your "contribution" is greater or equal to how much the game's price will be set to, I will always grant you a key to the final build (whether that's on itch or on Steam, itch is easier for this kind of stuff), so you don't need to worry about keeping supporting me just to get access to what the game will turn out to be in the final build.

I'm grateful to all your support and I feel bad that I can't deliver too much right now (because of everything else that requires me and my mental concentration), but your support makes a significant change in my ease of mind so to say and it actually leads to making sure the game has a life in the future.

In the end we can only hope that my plans will invigorate us soon and that I can set up a more sustainable way of making sure our game has a future. Relying solely on a Patreon has many drawbacks and it can also lead to games ending up in an endless development loop, similar to a famous sci-fi space game held up by crowdfunding (I won't mention it, but it's something Star related :D)

And this kind of endless development loop isn't ideal imo, because even though game developers may be genuine about wanting to develop their games (and I strongly believe those I know are), there's a psychological aspect to it, because we as humans are never satisfied, not with ourselves nor with our "creative products", so even though we may have the best intentions sometimes it just happens that we lose track of the end goal, of a path to an "1.0 release".

I hope my essay here made sense. I'm not sure if I'll be posting weekly but I will try to, this update was more so you know I didn't give up on anything :) Thank you.

Hey! I haven't vanished or anything, at the moment there's a lot of stuff going on and I'm waiting for the wishlists to climb up a bit so that we can start the Early Access plan and have a better way to continue forward than what there is already, I have a bit of a PTSD from Unity at the moment.
