Malevolent Writing & Art

Hey! The heatwave is really kicking in, but I'm still going. I have an older AC that really can't keep up with above 40C (104F) temperatures, so I'm just working with the windows open. Of course, my brain doesn't work so well at these temperatures as it does around 10-20C, but I got used to it a bit so it doesn't feel like the drag it used to feel one month ago.

Here's what I achieved this week:

  • Release a new Public Build on Friday ✅ Just now.

  • Draw 4 illustrations. ✅ It definitely isn't an easy task, but I think we have it.

  • Write one or two more SFW dialogues for outdoors Village with choices that would allow your character to gather the signatures/stamps you need from the Likurieris villagers. ✅ Wrote two SFW situations in the Village and 2 in the Bar.

  • Write 2-3 NSFW plots for the Village Bar, each of them offering the opportunity to gather more stamps. ✅ We're definitely good on this side, in fact, we have too much content planned for the bar in terms of art so for the first time the writing may be a bit ahead of the art. There'll be at least 1 animation with a full blown scene and a few other scenes that might also be animated, however, not as full scenes.

Luckily we have managed most of what we had planned and I'm confident in the dialogues I have written. I just counted and it seems I wrote 7.3k words just this week, but they're divided amongst different conversations with interesting plots that will unfold as you try to get the stamps in the Village.

Now, the plan was, with whatever text we will have written by Monday, on Monday I need to get back to animating the scenes and once I have the 2 animations for this month ready, I'll start implementing them into the game.

However, I might be forgetting a crucial step, which is to first make sure the village looks fine in the game and also the visual system for characters I had talked about that allows me to easily create new NPCs without spending so much time on them.
