Clerics Staying, Alchemists being added
Alright for the sake of those that enjoyed Clerics (and because I could fit the Alchemist blurb in the Class column page) I'll leave Clerics as the merch-collecting weirdos they are for now. It's two pages, fuck it. I can't see myself exploring their lore but more classes = more fun.
I've been drafting a long form comic in the background for after the V&V book is released and clerics were a causing a bit of creative blockage, but maybe they're just particularly rare in this world.
I'm still not 100% satisfied with 'em but I'll put 'em out of my head until the final polish.

...what if clerics are a relatively new phenomenon? Like, gods have existed for a while, *fans* have existed for a while, but it's only recently that clerics have shown themselves to be anything other than weirdo collectors, and now the world is trying to catch up with the sudden shift. It'd explain why they've not made a big impact on the world yet, especially if most people are feeling skeptical about things. 'He collects what?!'
Imagine the stuffy "my god hates it when people have fun" cleric trying to spread the word in this world? Lol
Thanks to all the gods, you came to your senses. Clerics are a MUST!
Rezmi left? 😱
Just add the cleric ban to the lore, water to wine is cute until the well is getting the livestock blitzed.
did we lose the tentacle based class or was that the old cleric one?
I appreciate that quite a bit. Though I do agree with your reasons for wanting to replace cleric I still quite like your interpretation of them and am happy to see them stay, at least for now
Glad to see them staying. Especially with VnV's multiclassing affinity. Wonder what a cult of personality cleric would be like tho!

Honestly gonzo weird ass religion (Or the parasocial celebrity stuff) are big draws to this sorta weird world
Some games have made comic books to explain their rules in kinds an extended and graphic version of an "example text" that sounds like a lot more work, but you seem uniquely qualified to do something like that. Is it something you'd be interested in?
Give them a passing mention at most in your long-form comic and focus on the stuff that works for you.
Glad to still have my favorite class around! Like others have mentioned, they don't all have to be religious zealots or pulpit thumpers. Shrine maidens, Shaolin monks, and Priest/ess of are all fun spins on just your basic healer archetype.
Thank you
You know there’s a joke here about he importance of clerical work.
I don't wish to overstep, but the Shagahol cleric reminded me more of a fanatic, "insane person," from Latin fanaticus "mad, enthusiastic, inspired by a god." Perhaps changing the name to something along those lines would allow the preservation of the unique characteristics for the class while not tying them to expectations of the name cleric?
More options, more fun. I like that mantra
Thank you.
Like I said before: Perhaps make the God-following Clerics an in-game foil to being a Warlock, as something you could opt into on top of any “Main” classics… In fact, Clerics and Warlocks could either be mutually exclusive branching paths, OR, able to coexist on the same character and provide them a level of power and interplay that’s equal parts VAST yet unstable, requiring constant care and discipline to maintain lest either side of the coin consume them.
That does sound like a good idea. Merging the two. Cleric just being the version that makes a pact with an idea or deity. Or perhaps the deluded version.
Honestly thank you, I love clerics and I think they would be a phenomenal part of this universe
I cannot thank you enough
