Play "Chakan: The Forever Man" for Sega Genesis. I forgot this game existed for about 30 years, but the art looks badass, and the main character looks like Eddie from Iron Maiden.

You absolutely need to play the Japanese arcade game PuLiRuLa. And if you don't have it in your arcade game list then look for the Japanese release of "Arcade Gears Vol. 1: PuLiRuLa" on Sega Saturn as it was released on there as well.
