Comic Creator Career (Semi-Active) 🖊️
16th July 2026: Updated tuning for the newest version of my modlibrary, which is now all this mod requires. Please download the new version; the link is in the description.
20th April 2026: Fixed a couple of missing/incorrectly referenced resources (Thank you to AuRevoirJulia). Also changed the career name to Comic Creator, (previously Sequential Art), and fixed a few typos.
6th April 2026: Updated to 32-bit instance IDs for the Royalty & Legacy dlc (prevents dropped careers). You will need to rejoin the career. If your Sim already had the career, a one-time LE may occur on the first load only. Make sure to delete the old version, as the file names have changed.
4th February 2026: Updated for the 2/3/2026 PC: 1.121.342.1030 / Mac: 1.121.342.1230 patch
13th January 2026: Updated CareerTone tuning for today's patch (Coach update). Also updated the career icons (had my eye on that magazine from the Werewolves GP for this career for a while and I think it looks better!)

7th August 2024: Hi everyone, I've spent the last few days going over this career and changing some things that I wasn't happy with. I've added new custom uniforms that are actually custom. I added Simlish logos and everything! I've also changed the way the sketchpad works, as it was behaving very oddly and glitching. Now it doesn't. I've also added new features: an online marketplace to sell digital art creations and a bunch of new interactions. As I've changed so much, you will lose your progress if your Sim is already in the career. You can either play through the version you have in your game or download the new one and cheat up to the level you were at. I really hope you like the changes I've made! Please redownload the UniversityJumps too, if you use it.

As a huge nerd, this had to be one of the first of my old careers that I decided to revamp. And by revamp, I mean recreate the WHOLE thing from scratch. This is a semi-active career, meaning your Sim can go into work or work from home.
This includes everything I could think of: Daily Tasks, layoffs, a TON of chance cards, and fame opportunities (the latter requires Get Famous). I've created lots of custom interactions, work-from-home assignments, and buffs. I've written my own script file to add 2 brand-new book genres, Comic Book and Graphic Novel, with custom-designed Simlish covers. Also, there's a custom uniform using Base Game items, so you can be sure not to have anything missing. I've included all of the icons I've used from other Game Packs, just in case you don't have them.
One of the career rewards is the Slablet (I know, it's useless). Or should I say it WAS! Now you get a bunch of eComics and eGraphic Novels to read. You can complete your Daily Tasks on a computer, or some require one of the other rewards you get.
The first branch, where you start out, will see your Sim working at a Comic Book store. After 3 levels, you can choose your branch. Each branch contains 7 levels, but I won't spoil the details for you.
What else? Oh, right; a brand new custom skill: Digital Art. I've enabled NPC career joining, so if you have Neighborhood Stories turned on, your unplayed Sims could join this career along with EA's!!
Despite just being one career, this was a LOT of work, and I did my best to perfect everything. As a stickler for details, though, if you do spot any errors, please send me a message.

hello! im sorry to bother, i recently downloaded this mod and whenever i reload the game it disappears from my sim's panel. i've verified that i have updated lot51 and ive made sure that i have your mod library so that it works. thank u so much!
Hi Julia, you have an outdated mod installed. Turbodriver's Unlimited Jobs Mod is known to be broken, but if you don't have that, you can do the 50/50 method to find the culprit.
hi! for some reason the career tasks are not showing up in the computer, and it is only showing me register with ministry or find odd jobs

Hey! I experiencing a bug that doesn't allow me to finish writing any graphic novels. Very rarely, I get to advance a little, but the task always gets interrupted and whenever I try to resume writing the novel, the process restarts completely, which prevents me from finishing those works. I hope you can help me with this!
Hi, that's actually an EA bug where the progress is lost. If you grab my Write Books Overhaul mod, that has a built-in fix for this issue. I've just double checked the interaction and it works perfectly for me. If you have any issues though, message me via midnitetechmods.com as I don't always see post comments :)
