Write Books Overhaul ✍🏻
16th July 2026: Updated tuning for the newest version of my modlibrary, which is now all this mod requires. Please download the new version; the link is in the description. Also simplified the publishing options (the new version of Mod Library injects new outcomes to EA's publishing options so they can be used with other writing mods, like adeepindigos, rather than just being compatible). Ensured ALL books published with Simazon, the Mailbox, and the new Computer options receive royalties. I've also added an interaction under Computer → Write to allow players to view their Bibliography, so that even when royalties have stopped paying out, they can still see a list of everything they've published.
21st June 2026: Reworked publishing options to improve compatibility with other writing mods and added support for progressing the Bestselling Author aspiration

6th April 2026: Added new Computer publishing options, and separated any conflicting tuning with Noteworthy Notebook. Now one does not rely on the other.
4th February 2026: Updated for the 2/3/2026 PC: 1.121.342.1030 / Mac: 1.121.342.1230 patch
29th January 2026: EA’s writing genres now behave as they do in the vanilla game and remain unavailable until unlocked. Previously, these genres were hidden entirely. Use Unlock All Genres on the computer (under Write) to access genres normally gated behind skill requirements. (Thank you, RenaRe)
3rd December 2025: Sorry guys, I forgot to add the genres from my other mods to the unlocked categories. Please redownload if you have the Sequential Art or HHC careers or the Home & Hobbies Aspiration.

New book covers
Horror genre for base game
Thriller genre (separate from Mystery)
Fixed publishing errors (you can still access EA's if needed for another mod through Shift+Clicking on the mailbox)
Genres unlockable in 1 click (bypassing EA’s skill requirements)
29th July 2025: Added Guidebook to Natural Living & Guidebook to Apothecary from Enchanted by Nature (the mod itself is still BGC)
25th April 2025: Added clearer publishing options (so as not to conflict with other writing mods), added new tooltips for the custom writing interactions, fixed lost book progress (EA issue), and did some minor tuning tidying up!
10th March 2025: Added the two new books from Business & Hobbies (not required), plus tweaked the publishing options. Now, if you have my Sequential Art or Holistic Health Consultant careers, you can now earn royalties from writing a Graphic Novel, Comic Book or Wellness Book through Self-Publishing with Simazon. Also removed autonomy for the Writing Retreat and cleaned up a few tuning and string files.
25th February 2025: Updated tuning for new patch.
7th February 2025: Replaced script file with 📁midnitetech_modlibrary. Delete all my script files except midnitetech_RenameWorlds.ts4script (if you have it).
10th November 2024: Removed an override to protect future patch compatibility (if you have Life & Death this fixes any issues with the Reaper career—a big, big thank you to Gina for your incredibly helpful reports!
7th August 2024: Updated to require Lot51's Core Library; also added 2 new book genres with custom Simlish covers: Horror & Thriller. New script file to add the correct tags for the new genres.

Hi!! I'm in love with this mod and currently playing as journalist seeking everyone's secrets with the new game expansion. However, I'm facing an issue when my sim goes to resume writing: the resume writing self-cancels. I already downloaded the most up to date mod and required mods. I'm wondering if you have seen this before?
It's because you have a conflicting mod. Do you have any of LittleMsSams writing mods? Like, Faster Writing?

HI! I loved this mod but I've been having an issue. I had to remove the mod because every time I tried to write a book with my highly skilled writer sims, I have to unlock all the genres even though they should be unlocked (my sims are usually level 10). It happens with every household I try to play. All genres are locked...Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Hey, after the update even if I click on Unlock all genres, I only have the option to write children and thriller books. I still have the previous version of the noteworthy notebook, could that be conflicting somehow?
After getting the new version I no longer have that issue :)

So, after the update there is no option for my sims to start writing a new book. Love letters, skill books and excuse notes are still there, resuming a book is also still there, but the option to start a new genre book is not. That only appears when I click on "unlock all genres"
After newest update there are no longer an option to write Comic books from your Sequential Art mod.

hey when I try to publish books at my mailbox its all gray meaning I can't publish the books but when I use the computer it works fine problem is I want to use the better publish function is this intentional or did I do something wrong?
Hello, I tried to use this on my game. I got her to publish two books, but then it glitched, and I couldn't interact with any sim.

Hi midni, i hope you see this is it possible for you to create more than book genre? i just hope my sims can create horror and medieval genre, also can you fix the description of the book? when i write a book the synopsis is inefficient that's all but overall it was a good mod.
