Multiplayer Space Shooter: Fight on a Planet, Board the Ship, Fly Away | UE5
Most multiplayer shooter templates assume flat ground. Point them at a planet and the whole thing falls apart: which way is down, where does the bullet go, what does the other player see. This video is a third person shooter that fights on the surface of a procedurally generated world, replicated properly, and then flies away from it.
The shooter is server authoritative. The server spawns the weapons and decides firing, ammo, hits, damage and death. A client sends its input and the point its crosshair is on. Current weapon, inventory, aiming, holstering, reloading, health, death, the jetpack and the player colour all replicate with RepNotifies, so every machine shows the right weapon, anim class and pose, including for players who join late. The fire sound plays on every machine, and a client feels its own recoil.
Bullets drop along the gravity field, so shots across a small world curve toward its surface. It all runs on SpaceKit's gravity subsystem, which means the fight works on the side or the underside of a planet just as well as on flat ground. When the fight is over, one player pilots the ship and another rides as a passenger, steps off on a new world and keeps fighting.
