NEW Video is up. 109E vs Spitfire 1.
The first video in my 109 vs Spitfire series is up. It's a Patreon Preview and it's only the first 22 mins, but that's more than most channel's entire videos.
In this preview I'm focusing on the engines, props, and the maximum speeds of the planes. The full video when it comes out will cover all the performance specs and some Battle of France history. However the full story of the Battle of France will only be in the Patreon specific video. I won't be able to put in on youtube because it's going to address some controversial stuff.
As always, I try to show some pictures that have rarely been seen. I hope you enjoy them.
Greg

Watching the preview a month too late: AI might spot that the Luftwaffe had ladders while the RAF had to make do with chairs. ;-) For the important stuff; great insights provided. Thanks Greg.
I'd assume the move away from YT is due to speaking about the nature of Nazi Germany's wartime production? I can't think of another reason why it could be "controversial," aside from possibly showing real 109 liveries of the time. As far as I've seen, other channels seem to get away with it, but not always universally...
Great video. Always nice to see a neutral perspective, no matter who comes out on top. I've been seeing a lot of hype concerning the ME-410 lately, especially from a 'gamer' trying to prove that the ME-410 was a match for the P-38 and Mosquito, P-47 and other fighters. Given your recent video's comparing those two Allied aircraft, I was wondering if you'd have the time to throw the ME-410 into the mix in the Fighter/Bomber scenarios and do a proper comparison as to which was technically superior in the Fighter role: 410, P-38 or Mosquito. Of course the ME-410 was meat on the table for allied single engine fighters, but the twins might be a better environment for it. Thanks for all the great content. I relaly enjoy it.
I’ve been rewatching the Japanese plane videos lately! I can’t wait to watch this one!
You state in the preview that most of the action in the Battle of Britain took place below 14k feet, but it seems that most of the memoirs I’ve read discuss fights at 20k feet and often higher. If you have more info on this, I’d love to dig into it.
I also would like to know this pertaining to Manu’s question. I was under this impression as well. Any insights boss man?
Wasn’t the involvement of Spitfires in the Battle of France mainly limited to air cover over Dunkirk? The more plentiful Hurricanes were part of the expeditionary force. FWIW, I think the RAF was entirely right to want to avoid a battle in a zone without effective fighter control, but the French were bitter about it. Even if it was obvious that the French fighters too were of very limited effectiveness in those circumstances.
Awesome. I have been hanging out for this Greg. Si, Christchurch, NZ.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the effort you put in to historical accuracy. I recently got fooled into watching an AI video about the RR Crecy, impressed with the level of detail, then at one point it made an outlandish, obviously incorrect statement and the spell was broken. Lesson learned - now I have to research a channel to establish credentials before bothering with any of their content!
A little off topic but I just joined hoping to poke around at some of the manuals, but all links lead to a 404 error page. Anything I'm doing wrong or missed?
Stand by. I'm messaging you the link.
Ready for all your content to be uploaded to the other platform.
Corvid, I will do that!
Great job, excellent video, nice photos. Thanks.
I hope you cover comparisons in the stall speeds, turn performance, stall/spin characteristics and dive speeds in the full video. It's nice to get all that information in one place. Probably my favorite parts of the videos
deSkunk, I couldn't agree more, but that's the world we live it in.
It is sad state of affairs when you have to hide stuff from a war fought around 85 years ago because of controversy. 🤦
You'd think with all of the "advanced AI analysis" YT performs on their videos, it would be able to determine the difference between a historical photo or possibly a modern orthogonal depiction of a real plane with, say, a very angry modern person intentionally displaying a very angry-looking plus sign.
