109E vs Spitfire

I'm sorry there hasn't been a new video in a little while. The 109E vs. Spitfire Mk 1+2 is getting really big. There is a lot to cover. The first video will be a Patreon only release, a preview of sorts, but still pretty long.

The second video will be the full Battle of France comparison which is the E3 vs. Spitfire 1 on 87 octane and with a variable pitch, not a constant speed prop. The 109E3 wins this contest. However once the Spitfire gets 100 octane fuel and a constant speed prop for the Battle of Britain, that brings the planes into parity with a slight advantage for the Spitfire.

I do plan to talk about the Battle of France itself and the reasons for French Military's pathetic performance. That's going to be in the full video, but specficially in a Patreon ONLY version of the full video. That subject will not at all be youtube friendly so I'll post the secret link here when it's up.

As always, I really appreciate each and every one of you.

Greg

Comments on the French army too laden with expletives? I read Raymond Cartier’s excellent short history of WWII in my youth. His observation was that “the weakest point of the French army was the intellectual ability of its generals.” And it’s true — Gamelin, Georges, Huntziger, Bilotte, to name a few, did a really bad job. But why were they all so poor at it? Were they too conditioned by their experience on the western front in WWI, overlooking the different warfare on the Eastern front? I think a major event usually overlooked was the prosecution and conviction of Marshal Bazaine in 1873. The insidious precedent made French generals wary of accepting responsibility for defeat, and converted a military defeat into a political one.

Good to hear you are hard a work on the video and doing what it takes to make it Gregworthy. I was getting a bit concerned with the long interval between videos, but yours are always worth the wait. Patience vs. watching AI slop is no contest for me.

You getting lost in the details? Say it ain't so, I can't imagine you getting sidetracked like that. This is why you are the man Greg. We like it when you go off on your tangents.
