TOTS PREPARATION

It's not always EA release a promo that we see every year, but this is one of them! TOTS is always as amazing time in FUT! infinite squad changes and brilliant cards from a variety of leagues make this a fan favorite promotion! 

TOTS can be a brilliant time to make coins as we see some recurring trends each year and I will try to outline all those below! 

First, let's start with the fodder market! Why are people worried about fodder this weekend and should they be? 

TOTS provides A LOT of very good cards, but keep in mind it also produces new fodder cards because they don't have demand. Shown below is a screenshot from last years EFL squad. In this team, pretty much all cards outside Phillips, Pereira, Behnrama and Eze became fodder. 

As you can see from this graph, around a week and half after coming out Doyle (87) became 19K! Now, let me clear and let you know there are huge differences with this market and last years in terms of fodder. 

Last year we had CONMEBOL cards and TOTYN cards that became fodder, so there were more options. There were also more options in ratings 87+, so this year they SHOULD be priced higher. 

I mention last year as everyone tends to use past information and it can get them in trouble. Instead, take into the varying factors, too! 

All in all, some TOTS cards that are not desirable will become fodder. It won't be instant, but they will with time. This in turn can quickly lower the fodder floors! That's why the advice from many people including myself is to safely be out of it! It would take incredible content for the fodder market to move up tomorrow. It's possible, but it needs to cut through HUGE supply! 

Next, let's talk about trading with META cards during TOTS! TOTS is truly amazing for this and this is where most of the coins lie. As rewards change from TOTW to TOTS, it's a perfect time to invest for Thursday Flips in relation to red pick rewards. 

For a simple example, Premier League TOTS shows insane opportunity. As you can see in the picture, there was only 1 CB in the team who was Soyuncu. Soyuncu was a good card, but he didn't provide necessary links for people! 

When red picks came out, people consistently packed Trent, Robertson, Alisson and Henderson. Who links to all of them? VAN DIJK! Van Dijk's gold card was significantly more META last year and he was also out of packs due to having a TOTS. He went up 80K from Wednesday to Friday! 

The key to investing in TOTS is finding which TOTS cards will be packed often in red picks and where there are positions lacking in the respective leagues. If there are pinches, you can make huge coins on those flips like the example above. 

Other times, you see a panic sell leading into TOTS, but those cards tend to recover really well after TOTS prices are established. For example. Mane's previous special cards did extremely well on the Friday of Premier League TOTS as well as the Thursday after (Premier League reds).

Of course, we can also look at flipping the new TOTS cards upon release, but those are the most risky! 

Let's talk about lower budget moves! The big one people are asking about are upgrades and rightfully so! 

During TOTS, EA typically let us grind out upgrade packs from the respective leagues featured. Unlike other upgrades that require general rares or non-rares, they require league specific rares!

• Rare Players: Exactly 11

• Team Chemistry: 45

• # of Players in the Squad: 11

• REWARD: Four Rare Gold PL Players Pack

EA very strategically lifted the price of rares by releasing the league-specific challenges recently, but I expect good prices on bid again tomorrow. If you can get rares from either Premier League or Ligue 1 for 900 coins or less there's no risk. This is an investment that is best to do in bulk OR a club stock. It doesn't make sense to go in-between. If they require 11 Premier League rares they can easily go 2K+. Due to limited Ligue 1 options, they can easily go 2.5K+.  

Just like we talk about with fodder, this in EA's control, but they have done it consistently in years past. This investment is perfect for those who are interested in upgrades themselves. In a worst case scenario, they release standard upgrades with any rare golds and they'll retain price.
