Early Access: The Cost of Doing Business
Here is the final edit, in all it's glory. Full notes and resources in the down there part.
This is not for public consumption yet: I've included my sensitivity reader's name in the end credits but need to official OK from her before hitting publish. Also I'm contractually obligated to release the Nebula version first.
But it's done, and you're the first to see it. :D

This is amazing. “No one ever went broke appealing to the ignorance of white people” had me squealing.
So hey, when can we blast this out to our peoples? :) My trigger finger's itchy, this is fantastic.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cig_zJ9g402/?igshid=YWZlMWU5YjI= this insta reel is about the way recognizing ones whiteness makes people feel more racist than defaulting to the yellow emoji, i assume because asserting ones whiteness is most commonly done by white supremacists. This video is so relevant haha
Oh, Ian! I just noticed that at 15:38, on my system anyway, all the doops in the slide (but none of the other graphics) have that pixelated "looks like butt" look. I'm at 15:53 and will add another comment if I see more.
...they are intentionally pixellated to look like they're on a game boy
It's so good to have you back, Ian. I know you don't owe us anything, but I'm really glad you seem to be finding / have found yourself again.
Glad to hear you have a sensitivity reader ^w^
This may very well be your best video yet. Well done! Your arguments are exceptionally well-crafted. Bravo, Mr. Studios.
What was your process for compiling the "how to do good allyship" resources?
Some were articles I came across naturally that I flagged when I saw them (benefits of working on this video for over two frickin years), some were asking people I know who do anti-racist work what resources they'd recommend, and the rest was Google searches and disregarding anything written by white people.
hooray! i know how much the end of this has been a bugbear, so i’m very excited that it’s pretty close to done! excited to watch the polished version :)
It came out sooooooo good. (No showtune, though?)
Showtunes were for the "ideology cycle" from You Go High, We Go Low to The Origins of Conservatism! (Though I think Into the Woods might show up in one of the conclusions.)
Fuuuuck yes this slaps
I keep getting jumpscared by Davis Aurini in the “on paper” bit
Good
Props for calling out my Alma Mater of UC Vacaville (which in no way is coincidentally my hometown)
There are so many little pieces of this I want to link to x-x
another slam dunk (i say, fully aware that i'm white and my opinion is probably only worth so much)
The alumni of UC Emeryville appreciate the call-out
Return of the king
Jacob’s here too!
Ian's back, baby!
Amazing video!
Yay, congrats on this achievement! Happy to see the fruits your hard fought labors (:
The timing of this video with the news... Which, honestly is probably a statement that would hit at anytime in the last... Forever.
First!!! :-D
