54:00 I feel obliged to mention some actual military men who were named things like "General Rudolph Merriweather", first name General. https://www.futilitycloset.com/2011/09/28/officer-material-2/
Actually Hollyrood had full control of our covid response on everything bar the finances, absolutely fair for Milo not to know this but stuff like this probably contributes to how mad he makes scotnats
"Look at Solaris" would be a great Mitski album title.
Riley please, I'm begging you, the number of clauses and digressions—and if you look we're talking digressions-within-digressions in some cases, sometimes I think you'd need one of those graphs everyone was making to explain Inception with, to the point of mangling any point that was being made to the point of complete nonrecognisability (which might not even be a word but I'm going with it)—but the digressions you manage to fit into some of the things you say mean that by the end—which can sometimes be unclear, because we're talking about sentences which feel like they span minutes and range across topics like an extremely stretched metaphor—but the digressions, which could be points and discussion topics in and of themselves would, I dunno... I was trying to match the word soup style and it's extremely difficult to parse where I was going with this, which probably demonstrates what I mean when I say... whatever it was I was saying?
on the slopes
As someone who had a horrible realization as a teenager that B1-B Lancers blowing people in Afghanistan without running water or electricity to hell paid for my fancy private schooling, the serious bit of this episode hit a little different.
That static at 1:07 scared the fuck out of me, jesus christ get absolutely fucked. ...good ep i suppose...
Remember when the Yemeni binmen were hard?
Becca's back!
i was just listening to this on the bus and I giggled at Riley mournfully changing his name back to Arnold Coriander and this guy on the bus said "something funny?", not outwardly angry but ready to punch something, and I said I'm just listening to a thing and tapped my headphones at the next corner, he hit the emergency exit button, hopped out the back doors, and while the bus waited at the intersection he tore off part of the bumper and punched the front doors, yelling at the bus driver i had to get off at the next stop but thankfully he had gone inside his house by that point so yes, this episode is funny enough for an angry person to notice my innocent laughs at "Arnold Coriander"
Something incredibly British about getting absolutely furious at a complete stranger enjoying Arnold Coriander.
Alice with the stolen Star Wars valour
Got jumpscared by the static noise at 1:07:11 lmao
Legitimately gave me a heart palpitation, that was horrible
worse, glup shitto is a tumblr joke about lin manuel miranda's star wars musical
OK, I know it's a bit but I now unironically want a TF Blue Peter Badge
Got distracted making a Glupp Shitto Craiyon and when I zoned back in you were onto conflict in Yemen. A jarring transition.
love to workshop Sonic OCs on a zoom call to sell as NFTs, truly an underserved market
You gotta go fast. Because the nft grift Overton window is closing fast
Did you hear about that guy who did a post about his train from Crewe to Cardiff getting diverted it went via rhyl
Sometimes I think: "all these made-up places in my DnD campaign sound weird and made up." Then I read posts like this. Naah, they're realistic, actually
Plot twist : it's called Solaris because it's the name printed on the computer manual in the room where you interviewed the astronaut. Then as he walks out it starts to transform into an alien.
Owning a controlling stake in the Kramer NFT and voting that he go super saiyan in the next episode
Increasingly concerned that the TF gang may not know what cats are after the "easy as trapping a cat" and "baiting the cat with cookies" bits.
Shitto.com is currently for sale for $2,895
For this episode of the pod, Riley's brain has been replaced with a second, larger brain
Running back to the podcast feed with my completed Glup Shitto illustration only to hit "play" and discover that my parasocial podcast parents will not be placing it on the fridge next to my report card (all Bs)
