You Must Imagine Sisyphus Gaming feat. Jonathan Bernhardt

It's the free one!

We’ve brought on Jonathan Bernhardt (@jonbernhardt) of Patch Notes podcast to discuss Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard. We discuss Activision’s super-villain CEO, the dismal state of its business at present, and what ‘metaverse’ fixations mean for the future of gaming. We also discuss a terrible security-state startup and subject Jonathan to Britain. Enjoy!

Is this the free one? I'm confused as to the matter of whether this is the free one or not.

my comment on the Metaverse is: remember when Valve launched Half-Life 3 in VR and around 17 people played it

For what it's worth, my understanding is that the CWA has been the primary US union involved in helping different game-company staff unionization efforts, not AFLCIO. That's really just a nitpick, though. The relevant factor in this is going to be whether conditions improve. If they do, it'll be hard to maintain the drive to go through with unionization. If they don't, MSFT is definitely someone I'd want to take on less than ABK, but I think there is a general sense in the industry that eventually _something_ is going to give because of how bad conditions can get, and it may be enough to convince people that they can win a long standoff with MSFT.

The CWA is part of the AFL-CIO and the Wisconsin ALF-CIO has been vocally supporting the Game Workers Alliance.

two things: 1) not in the UK but I had a major Britain Moment today when I was trying to get my bin man to empty my goddam compost bins that were previously frozen solid. In the end my noble receptacle lord only took one of them and I am consequently fuming mad about my Bins 2) Blizzard's handling of Overwatch is so good that people looking for a comparable experience are going back to none other than Team Fortress 2, a 2007 video game
