Baffled at how neither Riley nor Devon are familiar with the omnipresent student digs fire hazard that is the toastie maker but a baked bean and cheese toastie is a an absolutely beautiful thing (tries not to think about how I had the only thing gruelier than overnight oats for breakfast: ready brek)

I always thought I was a November, but it’s becoming more and more clear that I’m a Riley. I too got the eyeball cold, probably from my version of Berghain- an Akihabara maid cafe.

Having a terrifying realisation that having a Breville growing up is one of the like three things I've got from my mother being technically Australian

I'm not really a breakfast guy and it's not really morning anymore either but I'm about to make the one concoction I have when it's weekend and I want a treat: a sandwitch made of a sliced and toasted bagel, dijon mustard, sliced mushrooms, fresh spinach, a fried egg, slices of old cheddar, some ground basil and italian spice and a touch of yucateco hot sauce

I've always heard it called a toastie maker

Breakfast update: fried egg on an English muffin with wasabi mayo, black coffee in the Edward Gorey Mystery! PBS mug. I need y'all to get back to updating us on which le creuset mugs you are rocking, inquiring minds want to know (thank you Riley for remembering that part of your homework; points deducted for gruel but some credit is better than no credit)

1³:00 also known as a pie iron in British. Or American. Either way that's what mine was called when I got it on ebay.

Add Vietnamese cháo to your list of gruels

We have jaffles in Kansas, USA but call the appliance a sandwich maker and the food product doesn't have a specific name. My favorite recipe is bread + mozzarella in the maker, dip the sandwich in marinara. Also you can put cake batter in there and make little triangle cakes.

I grew up in south africa and at least in my home we just called those toasties which would come from a toastie maker

Riley pronouncing "scudetto" is profoundly cursed. Where is November to correct him!?

Oh man I want to read that spec script for a Bilblical Literalist version of Bones where they "solve" murders by finding out how the victim incurred God's wrath

I really appreciate the political commentary of that man Riley Quinn, but I am shaken to the core by the fact that he ate gruel. Da reist der Mann nach Deutschland und kann nichtmal von einem Brötchen berichten.
