I feel you Jake- I'm always hesitant to self identify as millennial (81 baby) and def identify with Gen x more, have become most comfortable using "x-ennial", but my Gen z son says that doesn't exist and I just need to accept my fate as a millennial, sigh.
the observation that our deep state is now composed in large part of people who truly believe they are hunting & fighting the deep state is obviously true but hadn't quite clicked for me. i'm gonna be thinking about this one for a while.
I read some researchers are now collating the yougest GenXers and the oldest Millenials into a new hybrid called Xennials, which is fitting but also sounds a very Millenial thing to do. As a fellow Xennial myself I think this generations thing can be a helpful simplification but most times is simply a detrimental shortcut to express resentment against younger or older people

Imagine being a career DoD official: You join the Department fresh out of the Ivy League in the late 1980s, you played an integral role in planning Panama, the Gulf War, Yugoslavia, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and then while you're waiting for your pension to start your final job is babysitting these twitter personalities who don't even understand what the classification at the top of a document means or in making sure the Secretary of Defense doesn't have nuggets of coke coming out of his nostrils at a press conference.

Love a Will Sommers ep, his work is great. I will say that every time I hear “DataRepublican” on a pod, I think it’s Date-a-Republican lol. Took me a while to realize what the name really meant.

What I don't understand is that this is against the law, it's a violation of the Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act. When this administration ends can't they all just be arrested? I think cracking heads with these small time grifters is a good idea.
Honestly the only people that will eventually go down are people like this because: 1) They're dumb enough to get caught 2) They're small enough to not be eligible for Trump preemptive pardon 3) They're annoying enough to really get on some prosecutor's nerves by constantly posting about their crimes
